This machine worked just fine when I bought it four days ago, I drove hundreds of miles to buy it from an amusement operator.
It talked, said cool things like "Chalk up!", played good in the man's driveway.

Got it home and plugged it in , but now the voice is silent, the flippers don't work, the pop bumpers wont pop, and the ball won't return.

Other than those issues, everything else works, game starts, electronic sounds work, lights work, just no voice or flippers, all displays are fine.

I have made a Youtube video to show exactly what is going on with this machine.

Just like man who sold it to me said, no warranty, no refunds, you buy it, its yours. I will part it out if you wish and send you the parts you need or local pickup only. If going the part-it-out route, all shipping costs to be paid by buyer. I will charge actual shipping. Additionally if you want to ship the entire machine NAVL or whatever, I will assist, but again, all shipping charges to be paid by buyer.

You can use these parts to build or restore a standard cabinet Eight Ball deluxe, if you can find a backbox and backglass.

Playfield is completely mylared.

listed on Ebay:

thanks!, I will accept paypal and take it off Ebay , will make a deal for KLOVers.

Sounds like you're pissed since you spent the money and made a long trip only to have it not work when you got it home and unloaded. Take a deep breath and try to cool off a little and then check some of the basic things that can go wrong on it.

Something might have come loose on in on the trip home. It happens frequently on these old games, there are lots of electrical and mechanical parts under the hood that vibrated around for a few hours on the trip.

I have it happen when I move stuff across the room, it works before moving and is flaky or non-working after moving. So it's definately possible after a long trip. It may be something as simple as a loose connector or loose/broken fuse.

Don't take this the wrong way because I don't mean anything bad by it, but if you don't like working on them then you need to find a local repair guy or find another hobby. These machines are old and fail frequenty, even when maintained.

If you give up at the first sign of a problem then you aren't going to be happy in the future doing this because they will all have some sort of problem eventually.

It's also sad to see a perfectly good machine possibly parted over what sounds like a minor issue.

The thing is, if it was a minor issue like a fuse I would have been able to fix it.
This is one of those weird problems that I have spent close to 30 hours trying to figure out and I am nearing the end of my patience. I have brought back a few pinball machines from the dead, but this one has a problem that is beyond my threshold of ability, time to let it go. If time is money, I have spent way too much money on this one machine and would rather play pinball than spend any more time fooling with it. I do enjoy fixing pinball machines, but when a particular machine creates a situation where I have to spend too much of my limited time and resources, there is no choice. It has to go. Its a simple business decision. If I owned three dry cleaning stores and two of them did great business and one had no customers, I would be a fool not to close the failing store. I only have a limited amount of real estate in my game room, and that spot is reserved for a working, reliable machine. My other pins are quite reliable and dependable.

I can feel your pain then. I'm in the same situation with a Star Castle. It was the first game that I made a roadtrip to get and spent months rebuilting everything in it, but never got any signs of life out of it.

So I walked away from it for a while and tried again, and again, and again.

It's in storage right now and has been two years since the last itme I touched it. I'll eventually get back to it, but it's at the back of the line for projects right now.

Good luck with repairing or selling the pin.

Actually got the damned thing fixed today, funny enough, i apologize for my rant.
Took it off Ebay, feeling a lil sheepish..

Still no voice, how many blinks are normal on a squawk and talk board?

Copied from the formerly free (and still plenty accessible via search) Pinrepair guides.

1st flash: Bad U5, flakey U15, leaky C1, open R1, leaky CR1, or bad U17.

2nd flash: PIA U7 is bad.

3rd flash: PIA U11 is bad.

4th flash: Sound generator U12 is bad.

5th flash: Speech chip U8 is bad. Also no fifth flash can be as simple as no -5 volts at TP4. Note the -5 volts comes from the G.I. (General Illumination) circuit. So if the GI fuse is blown, the sound/speech won't work either (because the -5 volts will be missing on the sound board).

Hope that helps, Cocktails!
