I've decided to sell my dedicated Atari Quantum. I hate to do it (along with my Gottlieb Reactor that I have up for sale also) but I need to raise some cash for another purchase. I've had this game in my personal collection for over 8 years and it's in great working condition. Cabinet is in good shape. Has a custom made backdoor but very nicely done with the lip on the inside bottom, tho it isn't painted. The sideart is complete on both sides and in very nice shape with a few scratches here and there but nothing major. Control panel overlay is in really good shape. The marquee is original and in nice shape also with 1 minor bit of flaking in one of the corners.

The monitor is an Amplifone that has a rebuilt HV with new flyback and works great. A new trackball, rollers and bearings were installed about 2 years ago and work great.

The game board was serviced by Dick Millikan a couple months ago and is in great working condition. The board is physically in very nice shape with no hack jobs done on it.

The only bad thing I can say about the game is the coin door has some rust in a few spots. I never got around to repainting it.

Included is the original manual with schematics that are in REALLY nice shape. Practically look like they were never used. I paid a good amount of money for these years ago when I bought them. I will also include a never used repo Quantum marquee. I decided not to install it since the original is in good shape.

I can email pictures to anyone who is seriously interested.

Game is located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I prefer local pickup but will ship if the buyer is willing to handle all shipping arrangements.

Price is $3,000 firm. If I can't get that for it, I'll keep it in my collection. A dedicated Quantum in 100% working condition is very hard to come by so I think this is a fair price. Thanks.

Rodney

You should post the pictures on here..these don't come up that often for sale...if you haven't already sold. Pictures speak a thousands words and help sell more quickly....
The one in my collection isn't going anywhere anytime soon...:D

Wow, I'm surprised this grail is still available! An all original quantum in nice shape with a factory Amplifone? As crazy as people are for this game, this should be gone by now... and the price is very fair for as rare and desirable as this one is! Perhaps some pics would help with the sale.

FWIW, I've had a few offers at the $3K range for mine, but I just can't let mine go.

Good luck, this should be interesting!

Why is this game so collectible? I don't see the appeal. I've played it on my MAME machine a few times and think it's rather boring. You just circle dots.

dude, those arent just dots man. its actually called a nucleus :)

there are also circles, triangles, pluses, dots, and lines too.

there is nothing like playing this game on a ded machine with the amp vector monitor. mame just doesnt do the game justice.

I second this. You cannot truly appreciate the game until you have spent a good amount of time playing it on a dedicated cabinet. It's a fun game and very challenging, especially in the later levels.

Galagas and MsPacs were selling for $800-$1000 a few years back - what's your point?

Well, I guess my point is that this game appreciate in value over the years while the value of Ms Pac/Galaga depreciate during the same period. Is that clear for you now?
