I'll do the ROM setup how you want it done. Just need the list and the game order.

All but the DK roms you need to buy.... unless you want to pay additional for those.

*** SOLD***

Does it come with the transfer cable? Is it a true Arcadeshop board purchased from arcadeshop? can you post a picture. Im thinking about putting one of these in a converted williams machine. I know you cant load all of the vertical games at the same time, what about the Horiziontal games? Can they all be loaded at the same time?

I can include the transfer cable yes.

I got it in a trade so I can't say for sure if it's an original. I think it's over a year old, not sure. How does one tell if it's an original AS board?

I'll post a picture tonight. I think I fit all of the Hor games on there.

So now the deal comes with Shipping, a serial com cable for file transfer, and a USB stick with the latest install files.

I have been told that Arcadeshop is now requiring an original invoice number if you want to purchase Donkey Kong II. If you do not have an original invoice number, they will not sell Donkey Kong II to you.

That said... Donkey Kong II is the only ROM that has this restriction. You should be able to fit all the horizontal games on without issue... but only about 30 of the vertical games (depends on the games selected).

They are not the only source

F*@$ them and DK2. I wish Nintendo would just sue them all and shut that down. This way the ROM gets released to the wild. They really have no right to make money off of it, legally Nintendo can easily sue. As a hack they can't get into trouble but when they sell it, they are leveraging IP that is not theirs.

$5 for Foundry and $25 for DK2????

I'm sure that if you were the person who reverse engineered the original source code, created your own new levels and re-wrote almost the ENTIRE game that you wouldn't mind it if "everyone" played a hacked copy of your hard work on one of those SHITTY ASS in-1 Chinese boards...

Jeff... the guy who produced DKII... is a good guy. There your ire is misdirected.

OK, your point is noted. Yeah I'm more annoyed at AS true.

Nintendo could stop them both with just a letter if they wanted to. At $25 a pop, they could just get a license but Nintendo probably would not approve of the version.

BACK ON TOPIC.

Pic added to original post. A couple of people fishing so please confirm if you are taking it and I can pack things up for shipping tomorrow.

Jeff actually was in contact with the folks at Nintendo... while not licensed, they're very much aware of the project and even gave him direction in regards to the artwork from my recollection.

There is no real "arcade" market any longer... just a few hundred of us hold outs at best.

but say you are Miyamoto/Nintendo and you created DK in the first place. You spent millions keeping Mario marketed and an Icon in the industry (of course making money on the way) and some guy is making money on your coat tails. You'd put a stop to him also. You may not even agree to him creating more content with your IP. Simply he's making money on it and how much work he put into it doesn't matter. He doesn't own the property, only his own work. In this case, he's not just selling his work. He's selling it with the name, images, original sprites, tiles, sounds etc...

Can we all start making additional Star Wars shorts with respiced scenes, adding our own work and content, making money? No... it's not our IP.

I used to work in the industry and have met Miyamoto... things don't work this way. Jeff is just flying under the legal radar of Nintendo. It's just like Namco putting a squash to twobits replicating cocktail art. It takes the lawyer like 20 mins to send out a C&D letter. They have whole departments devoted to IP violations. DK2 just isn't bigger than the breadbox to hit their radar.

He may be a good guy, he may be nice. Does he deserve to be compensated? Sure probably. Selling Nintendo's property? Marketing their property? He's just lucky he got this far. $25 a pop is huge! These laws are pretty clear. This is probably a dead horse but I also didn't bring up the DKII ROM, just vented at the cost of it.
