If anyone from NoVA is getting a truck up there, let me know, I'd be interested in getting one or 2 and helping out on the shipping...

Do you have a full list of games?

FYI for all, I sent an email and this was the reply I got:

Hi Lloyd,

Can you provide a list? And is the Aliens VS Predator game one of the $50 ones?

Jim

No and no.

What is the big deal about listing 20 games? I know people who have that many in their signature here. Sometimes I just don't get humans.

He did list half of them and post a couple of pictures, which is beyond the amount of effort people put into some listings... but considering you're looking to get close to $200 for them, why not just type the remaining cabinet names?

Lloyd doesn't like tire kickers.... If you are serious about buying something from him call him to set up an appointment and go over there. Otherwise you are just wasting his time. Lloyd gets tons of emails from people who have absolutely no intention of buying and by giving you that response you will either give him a call or stop emailing him.

Well I hate to say it but I'm not at all a phone guy, mainly because I don't have enough time to talk on it without my kids interrupting or a bunch of other reasons. I do pretty much everything via email or text, and I know I'm not alone. So, if he took the time to post the ad about the games here, I don't see how hard it would be to post a list OF those games he is looking to sell.

I'm not in any way looking to make things difficult for Lloyd's sale, I just found the abruptness of the email I got in response a bit surprising from someone looking to sell something. I wish him the best of luck with the sale of his games.

You need to understand Lloyd's situation before judging. Everyone would like to think that everyone acts like <insert favorite brick and mortar store>, but it just doesn't happen.

I use email as well and don't have time to use the phone. I email Lloyd and set a time up if I miss the game then I miss it. But then again I don't view stuff on Craigslist every second all day long(or at all really) and try to pounce on them like a Wolf who hasn't eaten in a week. (Not saying you do, but I've been reading more posts here recently about Craigslist) Everyone should visit Lloyd at least once and I suggest you do as well.

If he doesn't want to answer emails then he should say that. I just want to know what games he has for sale. What's so difficult about that? If he had a game I wanted, I would drive over there and buy it (the prices seem very reasonable). But I'm not going to make a special trip just to find out the names of the games that somebody has for sale when they can easily be posted on the CL ad or posted here or emailed to the customers that are obviously interested. That's just ridiculous. This guy has no sense of customer service and doesn't deserve our business.

BTW, I also emailed him earlier and asked him what the other 9 games were that he did not list or show in the photos and he emailed back "Are you local?" I replied "Yes" but haven't anything else heard from him.

The whole no time for a phone call thing doesn't hold any weight...

Hello
Hello
Hey I was wondering if you have this game, can I come take a look at it
Sure, I'll meet you there at this time
See you then

How much time did that take.....

Loyd id a great guy. But After going to his shop I can see why he is like that. He must have had 25 calls while I was there about 40 min buying a game and looking at 2 others. He is a Honest and fair, I would have no problem Buying from him again.

Well considering 9x out of 10 you get someone's voice mail (because as others have said he gets alot of calls), then they have to call you back, and I'm changing my kid's diaper or feeding my kid because my wife is at work and it's just me against 2 kids, so then that person gets MY voice mail and I have to call THEM back... and so the loop begins.

I don't live in the perfect World that you do Chris with your example above, I was being honest when I said phone time simply doesn't work for me. So I don't give a shit if it "holds weight" for you or not. I live it every day.

I have purchased a pin (he even delivered for free) and a couple games off him and never had an issue.

And he responded to my email earlier today when I asked if he has a certain game.

Assuming you are near a phone or access to a phone in private.

It may sound a bit weak, but I can understand where he is coming from. I can understand the other side of it though as well. Some people are in more of a hurry and would rather wrap things up quickly. I know I may not get a game by not wrapping things up quickly and apologize to people who think I may be dragging my feet, but that's how I am. I just try to be honest and polite about it.

Plus, I hate using the phone.

Horse, phone or what ever you rode in on. Some people just have not got with the 21st century yet.

This whole discussing could have been avoided with an extra 5 or so minutes of him listing the game titles and prices. In the end that would have saved a crap load of emails and phone calls to him.
I'm just saying....

Lloyd's fine. Pick up the phone. You'll get him most of the time, and the conversation will last no more than one minute, whether you buy something or not. He wants to sell games, not hear about how you can beat Street Fighter on one quarter, so he'll be quick.

He comes up with some great stuff at great prices. All kinds of coin op stuff.

Now Now let's not get uncivilized, Perfect world or not you now know how Lloyd operates for the next time. Try to relax.

I have to agree that he should have listed the other games, or said there were doubles of the ones he listed. He listed 11 games, if there are 9 others name them. If he doesn't have time to waste, why make everyone e-mail and call him to see what he has.
I'm not about to drive 3 hours if I don't have some idea of what games there are, since there are only 20 games, not like 500, you need to know what is there, you will either like/want one or not. I met Lloyd at Lebanon and he seemed like a nice guy, I wouldn't want to waste his time but if everyone that sees this post wonders what is there and e-mails him he will get 100's of e-mails/calls. If he listed the other games, only people that wanted those games would contact him.

I also don't have time for phone calls. I would rather drive 10-20 minutes than to make a phone call. With e-mail you check/answer when you have time (and are not interrupted in the middle of something) We sometimes don't check our answering machine for a week or more, but I check my e-mail almost every hour and when I get a message, its right in my pocket so I know right away. I can then reply when I have time, not get voicemail, interrupt the person, or worry about what time it is.
