I have been working on a multicade for way too long (due to some health issues & lack of motivation). One of the bad things about having a partially finished cabinet in the garage is the risk you take in damaging the finish. That's what happened to me- someone set a 5 gallon bucket too close and put a 1" scratch in the paint. So I had to repair and repaint.
The problem is that the finish was really smooth (roller brush) and I havent been able to get it smooth like that again. I don't remember the 'formula' of type of roller, whether I thinned the paint with water, weather conditions, etc.
I think the ambient temperature has been causing the paint to dry too fast and I end up with roller marks and a coarse paint texture. I am embarrassed to say that I have repainted this one side 5 times already. Wet sanding to get a nice smooth surface before repainting the last coat.
Should I pull the cabinet indoors? Its not too easy to do, but if it will allow for a better paint experience, I will consider it.
Thoughts? Suggestions?
