Frustrated Craigslist Add

I really enjoyed the "THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE." at the end of his rant. I wonder if it took him 25 years to finally let it all out and/or if he went off on somebody when he showed up and they didn't want to pay.

That is probably why I found it so interesting. I have a Firepower Sys 6 that I have been working on, the guy picked it up free curb side at a City Wide clean up..All the fuses were wrapped in tin foil..that is only where the problems started. Sys 6 are not hard to fix just time consuming. This is the first time I have had problems getting the sound board to go on one of these buggers, Bad 6800, 6821, 5200, 2N4401, ROM and several other IC.s. Not to mention the bad 5100 on MPU, dozen TIP102, PIA, and some well toasted coils. But the tin foil held OK.

Mechanics go through the same shit everyday. lol Then again I dont go skimming craigslist for odd repair jobs either, thats just asking for it.

OMG, this is great! 100% true!

I also love the ads "It was working when I put it away, 8.5 years ago".

Really? And now the flippers suddenly do not work, or whatever does not work.

I also work on cars and right, it is the same thing, although cars can take more abuse and go a long time with a check engine light on for example. A lady in my office asked me what the light was on for, I scanned it, told her and did she buy the part? Nope! Still driving it!

Likewise, I restored a pin for a family remember once. The machine was dead to the world! One of those, yeah it worked when I put it away. The thing had all kinds of board issues, besides some of the 30 year old components just needing to be replaced.

Anyway, the family member had no appreciation for all the time and work I put into the machine. I told them step by step what needed to be done, how I had to research fixes and parts and so on... Yet to pay someone hundreds, the going rate, to do the resto would be out of the question for them. Sure, I'll help family but at least make it worth my while too.

Never again! Find someone else to fix your crap!

So hopefully I can start picking up a ton of cheap DOA machines with minor repairs needed! :D

Somebody call the whambulance. Obviously the guy doesn't see the irony in whining about people whining.

If he doesn't like the game he should take his toys and go home.

I have no sympathy for someone like this. There is a simple solution to this problem. Stop repairing pins for other people.

Fucking pathetic.

Not that I've ever had to, but I will assume a person goes to a therapist because they can't deal with what they're feeling. I guess "whining about people whining" happens a lot in sessions.
The guy is simply venting and I for one can completely understand. Most people are ungrateful, leeching fucksticks and want everything for free. I will assume this guy is trying to make a living and is frustrated at all the moronic idiots that populate this earth.

Bottom line this CL poster needs to realize this is reality - a reality he can;t change. Either deal with it or stop doing it all together. To me sounds like he needs to throw in the towel and be done with repair work. Or he's a bi-polar / manic depressant that is having a "special" moment.

I never said it doesn't. It's just kind of ironic.

Agreed. If he is in fact trying to make a living at it he should really just suck it up and live within the reality of the situation. Trust me when I say I can relate to where this guy is coming from. Probably more than most people on this forum.

That's basically exactly what I said. Minus the "special" stuff :)
