I'm a little embarrassed that I'm not restoring a cabinet. Not that's its out of the question. But my first project is a multicade I'm building for my new basement rec room. It's actually my second project. I picked up a dead Williams Flash pinball first, got it working with the help of many smart Pinsiders and then was bored again. But there's an empty space between Flash and my son's Clean Sweep claw machine. I was planning on another pin (Black Knight), but my wife said, "one pin." Knowing she's a Pac Man fan, I set my course to a Multicade instead. She agreed, or at least, acquiesced. After looking at the 60N1's on the market and going to an arcade auction, I decided to build since that's half the fun and I thought I could get it done for about $500 with the help of some friends who run businesses that could be helpful: woodworker with a CNC, print shop, IT department with lots of old computer stuff laying around. Well it'll be closer to $800 even with the Jakobud cut wood panels gratis and free Dell monitor. Cost escalated with things like a T-SLG, wiring the Bob Roberts way, good plexi, and a coin door I just had to have. Going for a Galaga repro trying to stay as close to visually accurate as possible.
