I currently have an original Popeye that someone converted to a VS Super Mario Bros.

But I'd rather convert it back to the original Popeye. I assume this is possible to do relatively easily?

I remember reading reading that not all Nintendo PCBs work in all Nintendo cabs.

Was it Popeye that required a different power supply?

Obviously I'll need to obtain a new Popeye control panel and harness, but is the rest "plug and play"?

If the person before me was able to convert it to a VS...then it should be possible to put it back as a Popeye right?

While dedicated Popeyes have a power supply that doesn't put off a -5v, they will run off the standard PP7B power supply that most Nintendo games of that period had. So, for example, while a Donkey Kong PCB won't run off of a Popeye power supply (due to the lack of -5v) a Popeye will run off of a Donkey Kong power supply (despite the fact that it has -5v). As long as you have the original Popeye power supply or a PP7B you should be okay.

Otherwise you'll likely need the PCB, harness, control panel, bezel, marquee, and sideart.

Here is my Popeye power supply.

Thanks a ton everyone! This makes sense to me now. I verified that I have the PP-7B power supply in my (current) VS machine. (The larger one) This also happens to be the same power supply in my other 2 DKs and Wide Body Mario bros.

I do not have the dedicated PS that Constellation pictured above.

So I think that I'm good according to JamBurglar.

Again, thanks to everyone for the help understanding all of this.
