I recently purchased this Frogger board and it everything works except for the sound. I noticed this one burn mark and the component missing which sits next to the 6 pin connector for the audio pot. If I connect a pot and bridge the broken connection I do get sound, but I'd like to know what the missing component is so I can have a complete working board with all the right parts. I've looked at the schematic and unfortunately I can't really decipher it as I'm not well versed in electronics. If somebody can identify what is missing I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

cap 6,8 at 16 volts
its also silkscreen on the pcb

Agree. 6.8uF, 16V. Based on the fact that it apparently went up in flames - I would guess it was originally a tantalum capacitor.
Tantalums are great caps but they don't like two things - over voltage or reverse voltage.
Part may have originally been spec'd at bare minimum voltage rating in order for the original manufacturer to use cheaper parts - feel free to increase the voltage of the replacement to something like 25 volts. If it was caused by reverse voltage - there may be other issues at hand and may need some digging.

Cleanup that carbon scorching before replacing the cap.

Thanks. I have some deoxit spray, I assume that works well for cleaning up that scorch mark. As for the capacitor, should it stay at 6.8uF and just increase the voltage to 25ish V or can the uF be different as well?
