So I pick up this Frogger cocktail from a a friend. It has sound issues. When he demonstrated the game it would make the game sounds but non of the music. The sound would crash and a loud single tone noise would come out. So I took it apart replaced a few of the electrolytic caps it had on both boards. Fired it up and still the same issues. Cleaning the Legs on the z-80 and the sound chip. I got music and game noise.
Closed the game back up. Back to no sound and no music. Open the game back up. Probed around the 34 pin interconnect board connectors. Signals go in but they don't come out. Replaced the interconnect and we got music and sound once again.
Now all I need to recap the sega monitor and find another joystick.
