Lost 5v on my frogger. I'm confused on a few things. After reading several posts , it seems some froggers are AC and some are DC. I believe mine is AC according to the linear power supply. I have a power supply here but the +5 is 15 amp and the old one is 6amp. Will this hurt anything? Also can some one school me on what AC/N and AC/L means on the new power supply.
I've included a photo of the two.

Thanks,
Darin

frogger power supply

yes darin it should work, just when you put it in turn the voltage knob all the way down, unplug your board and stick s multimeter set to 20 volt dc scale and adjust without the board until you get 5.2 volts dc then plug her in, adjust 5 to 5.2 because with a load it will drop a tid bit.

quote me if im wrong guys but a higher amperage on a voltage rail shouldn't hurt anything right? cause i put a switcher that 20 amps in my tron and its fine.

This is the original wiring. AC on the the original power supply has two different terminals. The new power supply has AC/N and AC/L just want to make sure they are hooked up right.

Thanks for the reply mrfixit.

i belive it stands for AC Line and AC Neutral but i could be wrong. anyway, i have always use them either way and didn't matter which wire went where on those two connections for AC!

AC/N = Neutral(usually white/blue wire)

AC/L = Load(usually black/brown wire)

As mentioned, it really doesn't matter what's hooked to what between the two, as long as anything else you hook up to it follows suit. It's just a good reference to keep track of what your wires are, from the power cord to the switch, switch to the line filter & fuses, ps, ect....

I'm kind of anal on my wiring, so I would make sure that the "load" wire is placed where labeled on the ps.
