Hey guys,

I don't know if this is a common problem, but I am getting no 5v from my power supply(orignal not switcher).

I have 12v and -5v.

Are there any specfic parts that control this, I should check?

Thanks

Mike

There were several different power supplies used in froggers...two I'm aware of, but there could be more. The two I've had experience with are junk....I'd toss a switcher in there.

All the Froggers we had on our route back then had a +5 volt only switcher in there along with a seperate analog power supply board that provided +12 volts and -5 volts. If I had a problem with either one, I would yard them both out and install a single Peter Chou switcher to replace both of those troublesome original power supplies.

I just did the very same thing to my Frogger today. No +5v, and I gave up searching for a PS schematic. Slapped in a Peter Chou and everything is now perfect. It was actually very easy to do. Put the old linear wrapped up in the bottom for leagacy sake.

Thank you for all the replys!

Well, I pulled the supply out, it was a tip120 transistor that went out. I replaced it and I am up and running again!

We will see how long it lasts, I do have a question about the Peter Chou PS.

Where do you get them?

Is there a different name used for them?
