Machine is new to me. Previous (non-technical) owners had someone out who wanted too much to repair (not replace) the monitor, don't know what the repair guy told them 1+ year ago...

Unit powers up, marquee lights, makes proper sounds then joystick is moved in multiple directions. There is a constant buzzing from the speaker. Listening to the tube assembly, there is a slight ticking sound, possibly once per second.

I do not see any tube neck glow. With room lights completely off, i barely can see unstable dots for each of the guns, and some side-scrolling stuff that might be the intended image.

Both ends of of R1 vary between 0 and ~15.

The video mount shows G07-907. Would i be able to swap this for a working G07-CB0?

Where do i start?

thanks,
John

Frogger is vertical - is there a way to temporarily use a horizontal orientation CBO from my Joust machine?

I ordered a Cap Kit, and will try that (my first such project) installed next.

You should be able to swap that out for a CBO just fine.

Are you swapping the entire monitor or just the chassis? If you intend to swap the entire monitor you need to look and see if it will mount into your cab.

The display orientation, horizontal or vertical, is a result of the programming on the game board and the monitor will display it however it is programmed.

Thank you for kindly covering the basics ;-)

One other thing, sometimes the picture is displayed upside down or mirrored (somtimes both). To fix this will be either a simple dip switch change on the game board or swapping of the yoke wires to the chassis.
