My frogger keeps re-setting when I start playing it...it just now started happening. I shut the game down for the night..I did not investigate the issue yet....im just throwing the problem here on the boards looking for suggestions as what to look into to correct it...i wont mess with it till next weekend.

Does it reset at the same point or does it seem random? If it's random it's more likely a power supply, if it's reproducible and consistent it's probably ram or rom

Same spot..in attract mode as a frog comes from thenright of the screen it resets to where is the white x's on top and bottom of screen...and frog comes out the right again and wham!..a reset.

got to check your +5volts DC ON the switcher AND on the board
you want to see what it is after the connector ON THE BOARD if it seems correct on the output of the switcher

had a game PCB from an east coast island surrounded by ocean salt water
it was so oxidized from being in a salt water environment for so long that I had to turn the switcher up to 5.35+vdc just to get +5.0 on the leg of a chip so it would run

good luck and report back what the +5 volts zat

keeps re-setting when imstart

maybe its JUST low say at 4.68 or whatever, enough to run for awhile but if theres demand for graphics BAM! causes it to reset

maybe the 5 v is right on sorta and what I do is use the back of my finger on the chips there and see if one is getting hot/failing and since it just started happening you can catch the chip failing instead of being just a dead board

good luck

If it's the same spot probably ram or rom. Certainly check your voltages but power issues are usually random where memory/ram issues are deterministic. I have a frogger test rom for the sega version on my website http://www.arcade-cabinets.com/resources.shtml if you have a rom burner. This cannot rest graphic ram but test rom and main ram

i think i may have fixed it....i removed the pcb and re-seated every chip that is socketed...reinstalled it, turned game on...it went an hour and 15 minutes without resetting...when usually it begins its resetting 45 minutes or less after being turned on...even played about 5 games an hour into it and no resetting.

i did not check the voltages anywhere...i did the reseat only..and if that didnt work id begin a voltage check but it looks like the reseat fixed it ::fingers crossed::
