Frogger hops into the OMGWTFBBQ! - :)

You know, I've heard you call your arcade that many times, but you've never explained what it meant. Is it:

but I like yours better

Hello, sir. Allow me to explain these definitions for you.

OMGWTFBBQ = "OH MY GOD WHAT THE F*CK BARBECUE". The term is thought to have originated during the building of the Transcontinental Railroad, and was often heard in the distance and yelled by many of the Chinese workers. My arcade is called "John's Arcade", not OMGWTFBBQ. OMGWTFBBQ is something to be said when you are excited. Like, "OMGWTFBBQ! I can't believe you were able to complete 10 miles of track through the Rockies today!" Or, in modern times, "OMGWTFBBQ! I can't believe you got that Star Wars Cockpit in your Subaru!" OMGWTFBBQ is also what I call my summer arcade parties. Which, are actual barbecues. Or "grill outs", as the folks in the south would prefer us Yankees to say. The term is actually quite versatile as you can see.

Ninty = "Nintendo". It's how all the cool kids and serious Nintendophiles say it. Join us.

Oh My God - Where's The Freaking Booze - Bring Quick!
Oh Man, Garage? Where's The Full Basement? (Bring Quarters)

If you're going to make up words, then you at least need to let us know what they mean. Similarly, define "Ninty".

Edit: I guess I was slow on that.

Well, finally getting around to finalizing my Frogger. I have since acquired four frogger cabinets. I picked the best of the worse, stripped it, and am filling in holes, etc. now. Hope to have this done this week. Been staring at these damn cabs for too long.

The cab I am using is decent. The sides are passable but the front needs help. I am bondoing the lock bar hole. I hope I don't regret this. I think I might. I should have just put a carriage bolt in the hole, but it was so swollen and large I am not sure that would have worked.

Has anyone tried touching up the brown grain with paint after bondo'ing? Any luck?

Or, how easy would it be to remove the front wood panel from another cab? Anyone ever do that? :)

I was able to remove the front panels. Wasn't too bad. Six screws then I hammered it off and loose of the staples. Much better! :)

muy bueno!

i figured it couldn't be that hard, wasn't sure about screws but i figured a rubber mallet would do :D

good to know! will have to do the exact same thing on mine - with one difference: the entire front panel has been hacked (bally coin door fitted in), so i will need to cut a replacement panel. would be much easier if i could have one of yours, but unfortunately there's an entire ocean between our two locations ;)

I might be able to help you out. I should have an extra coin door and other parts too. When I'm done I'll let you know.

Looking good. Everyone should have a frogger.

Yes. Actually, I think it's good that he has several. I mean, you need extra lives - how else are you going to be able to successfully push the game across a busy street? That way, when one game gets hit by a semi, you've got a couple more tries.

HAA HAA! Love the reference! And a little overkill on all the cabinets! What happens to the unwanted remains? ;)

More than a year later I finished my Frogger. Crap, that took forever!

Got it all back together and the flyback blew! UGH.

So, after the monitor is fixed, this bad boy is ready for the basement.

I basically ended up with four cabinets. One was complete/original but the cab was falling apart/swollen/water-logged, one was jamma'd but complete and the cabinet was all botched and modified, one was a gutted trivia game in a frogger cab, and one was an ikari warriors in a space firebird cab. So, I took the best of what I had to make the best one and have enough to make one more which a fellow collector is picking up.

Things I did:

Repainted all black
Bondo'd as needed
Sanded and painted coin doors
Sanded chrome coin mech plates
sanded and painted black every carriage bolt/screw on the game
New CPO x 2!! (I totally screwed up the CPO the first time I put it on. I had to restrip the CP AGAIN and order a new one. This is the trickiest CPO I have done to date. It's still not perfect, but it's damn close)
New sideart
New T-Molding
New light fixture
Disassembled and reassembled into new cabinet

It was actually a major pain in the ass. So glad to be done.

Here's a few random photos from the restore:

Looks very sharp! I've thought about adding side art to mine before and it definitely adds something to the plain woodgrain. I don't think mine came with side art either from what I can tell.
