Frogger hops into the OMGWTFBBQ! - :)

yes its a gremlin/sega or sega/gremlin cab,i have the same cabinet (i think they did them with woodgrain and a light grey color) here in united kingdom, mine happens to be light grey.i am going to convert it to moon cresta,i have the full kit for it,cp,board game, bezel, marquee.but,i have to relaminate the sides and front with wood grain to make the cab more authentic (that will be another story for future)

but,i wouldnt mind a frogger kit for it though.something to bare in mind for the future i suppose.

i think they called it two different names based on the game you use,so moon cresta being a gremlin game had gremlin/sega on the marquee.

sort of a generic cab for gremlin and sega kits.
:)

Its rare that you see one with original sideart, most didnt have it. FYI, the braze HSS kit will only work with the 18/36 two board set. If you have the 22/44 board it wont work. I have a braze kit in mine, works like a charm.

Thanks for the info. I counted mine and the edge connector has (18) contacts on one side. So, I am guessing I am ok. I ordered the kit. Wo0t!

I like how the flyer says 200 points are scored whenever Frogger catches and eats flying insects. Didn't realize there were flying insects in the game :D (other than the fly in the home spots, which is also mentioned)

That sucks about the HSS kit not working on the 22/44 board, which is what mine runs. Oh well.

Nice pickup, Blkdog!

I love what you see in the backgrounds on everybodys pics.. I see a Baby Pac being restored and an ever so elusive APB seat!!!!!!! We love our Frogger too BTW...........

Way to steal my thread title and alter it slightly. ;)

Mine came with side art, here's an old picture:

I bought Jeff's high score kit and it's great. As long as you have a compatible board set, which it is my understanding that most do, you're good to go. You utilize existing pieces to raise that board up over it. There are instructions with the kit's page.

I think D_Harris is referring to this. I read somewhere that most if not all Frogger's shipped without sideart. This is why you see no remnants of old sideart. Sideart was offered to the ops for an additional charge. This is along the lines of the Atari cabaret artwork too. None were shipped with it but it was offered to the ops.

That's because that cabinet was used for several different games. (But they didn't come with Frogger side art by default).

Funny to watch you try to justify your wrong answers...

What's next -- no games came with sideart because trees don't have artwork, and they were trees before they were cabinets?

Sega did use that cabinet for other games... and guess what... carnival had sideart, pulsar had sideart, astro blaster had sideart, astro fighter had sideart, head on had sideart, invinco had sideart and... frogger had sideart...

It's kinda funny how some games will just never show up. Congrats on getting your Frogger.
Wow! I got me some Frogger! :) This game has eluded me for some time. I know it's not a rare game, but for whatever reason it never comes up on the east coast, I just never see them. Is everyone keeping theirs? Thanks to a local collector pal, Frogger is home. Thanks!

Cabinet is overall solid but a little rough here and there. Just a lot of little dings, etc. on the sides. Black could use a touch up. And, I might throw a kickplate on to cover up the bottom. Overall, it'll look great in the row.

Does anyone make a high-score save for this game??

And, why is it that all of the Frogger's I have ever seen are missing the side art - completely. It's like it was never there. Did they ship a lot of these from the factory without side art? I'm gonna need to order some from Arcade Shop. Is their art good?

Anyways, on the surface, it's such a simple game. An easy concept to grasp but a hard as hell game. An absolute classic, I love me some FROGGER!!

Check it!

...

Frogger didnt come with sideart. I never seen one in a warehouse with sideart ever. I think the only sideart ive seen it on is the old console boxes like the 2600.

I heard at one point its "fantasy" sideart taken from those boxes.

I wondered when the red headed troll would make an appearance.

And none of that made any sense at all.

This is about Frogger. And as pointed out by another poster, Frogger by default came from the factory with the wood laminate and no side art.

And by default the other games you mentioned(except perhaps Astro Blaster) came from the factory with side art already in place. And not because of a decision by the operators to buy the art separately and apply it.

I've seen several froggers wtih sideart in warehouses...

I've even seen one of the tall tabletop froggers that had special art on it -- actually thought that was a homemade cab until I saw carnival and a few other VIC games in the same cab...

It may have more to do with what the op ordered than anything... the warehouse with froggers with sideart also had atari minis with sideart (centipede, BZ, and asteroids deluxe) -- but the op wasn't selling the ataris :(

I'll probably be too busy trying to figure out how to fit a Star Wars Trilogy downstairs into the basement, but a game of Frogger isn't a bad idea.

I may try to squeeze one game of Frogger in before heading out for the weekend. I'm so close to passing the 10th board and finally breaking 40K.

You know, I've heard you call your arcade that many times, but you've never explained what it meant. Is it:

Oh My God - Where's The Freaking Booze - Bring Quick!
Oh Man, Garage? Where's The Full Basement? (Bring Quarters)

If you're going to make up words, then you at least need to let us know what they mean. Similarly, define "Ninty".
