Frogger G07. Picture too low. How do I move it up?!

I disagree. I have a 36-pin (Konami) Frogger board right here that tells me different. I believe John has the same style board (not the 44-pin Sega board, which I don't have so I can't confirm what polarity sync it has).

I have the 36 pin board.

I really don't think I have the sync hooked up wrong!! :)

If it doesn't look like this then it is wrong. Trust me.

I recently bought a game where a previous owner made the same mistake. They swapped in a G07 and just kept the sync line in the 6-pin header. No matter how much you adjusted it the image was always too low. Moved it over to the -H (loop-tied to -V) post and the picture could be adjusted perfectly.

Matt, friend, it doesn't look like that. It only has the larger plug. This is the ORIGINAL monitor and the ORIGINAL harness. Nothing has been molested, it's all stock!!!!! The insides of the cabinet I pulled this from were like a time capsule.

I'm sure it's possible. But my deducing powers tell me otherwise. Anything is possible, right?!?! There isn't a second plug to be found. So, I are you saying I need to remove the wires from the original plug to create a second plug?!?

I just checked the schematic and it shows a 6 pin molex just like I have. Am I looking at this wrong!?

Yes! That G07 is not the original monitor. You need to move the sync wire to a second plug so you can plug it into the 3-pin header on the G07 (and make sure -H and -V are tied together). Do it now, thank me later. :D

I've seen quite a few Frogger's. Never seen one with a Nanao. Mine has a G07 in it, too...

I guess the frogger I had was an early production one. It was set up with the Nanao and it plugged into the service outlet on the Power supply. Also the game came with all manuals..including the ones for the Nanao. The PS was setup for 100V for the monitor.

I have the original Frogger manual and if you look in it you will see there were actually three different ways they wired the cabinet. There were three versions. One of the schematics shows a 100v NANAO or SHARP type monitor. That schematic, showing those monitors, does not match my cabinets wiring. The image I posted is from the schematic that does match my cabinet. That schematic just has a generic monitor label and does not reference a particular brand.

I fully believe this vertical G07 is the original monitor complete with Frogger burn.

The only reason I say that is because your harness (which you say is unhacked) does not have the two plugs necessary to hook it up properly to a G07. If you have an extra pin housing lying around it takes less than a minute to move the two sync pins over and try it. Don't make me come over there and hold your hand.... :D

OK! I will try it! I'll got to Radioshack and get a pin housing if they have it!

BTW - there is a very small clue that the monitor might not be original. It looks like the original monitor power plug from the harness was retrofitted to the g07 power wires with some wire crimps.

BTW - here's how the picture currently looks. I could live with it, but I would love it to go up about an inch.

Another reason I would say it is not a sync issue...... You have a rock solid good image, that tells me the sync is good/wired correctly.
You just need to shift it horizontally. (Which I assume you have run out of adjustment for)

That's exactly what the G07 in my Phoenix was doing before I realized that whoever had swapped the monitor in it had hooked up the sync to the wrong polarity on the chassis. I moved the sync from positive to negative, did the sync mod (to remove some curl along the right edge), and then I was able to adjust the position and size perfectly.

I'm not doubting you completely, just never had that sort of "sync" issue myself.
Honestly, I'd like for blkdog7 to give it a shot and see what happens. I'd love to add it to my mental notes if it works in his case.

Ok, I tried it.

It would not sync. I removed the yellow and white wires from the six pin molex and added them to a three pin molex. I put the yellow on the outside and the white on the middle. I ran a wire connecting the two together. I could not get the game to sync. I tried every position I could. It would not sync. I removed the loop wire. It would not sync.

So... I put it back the way it was. And, I adjusted the HFREQ. I was able to move the picture up 0.5" or more. It's now WAAAAAY BETTER. I do have some curl on the bottom right, I guess I should have done the curl mod. I didn't think I needed it since it was an older game.

I do think it was wired correctly from the beginning. That's what I think, at least! Cause now my picture is where I want it to be and the image is rock solid. And, it's all wired with the single six pin connector. so....

I'm feeling a bit more vindicated. lol I agree ... when he does the mods it will look awesome.

No, no, no... there should be only one sync wire. The board outputs negative composite sync on pin 14 (parts side).

I did it just like the picture you posted!!!!! You said "If it doesn't look like this then it's wrong". Well, I did it like that!

So, do I use the yellow or the white wire? What pin does it go on according to your picture? Pin 1, Pin 2, or Pin 3???

Also, I did the curl mod. I still got the damn curl!
