I went to a friends house who has a Pinbot, that hasnt worked since, you guessed it, it was moved into their new house. Flip switch, most GI lights on, and very loud hum front backbox speakers, volume knob has no effect. I looked at the MPU, no led lights on at all, looked at power supply, three burned out fuses. I replaced the fuses, and verified that all fuses were good, but mpu still didnt do anything. I looked closer and saw lots of dreaded battery acid all over the board, and tons of corrosion in the battery holder.
So....... I went home, researched online, and it needs a Williams System 11 board, or a Rottendog system 11 board, but didnt see any used ones, and Rottendog says OUT OF STOCK.

Any suggestions?

Also, they said they are dealing with their power company over some sort of power surge that messed some things up in their house, so that might be why the fuses were blown, the fuses didnt have any effect on the symptoms of the game. Mpu is getting power, but no lights are coming on and it doesnt do anything

One would guess that the move was enough to cause solder breaks to happen due to the battery acid.
You can pull the board, neutralize the acid and replace all the parts in the affected area. If the acid has pretty much run to the bottom I'd personally say F-it and contact the resale suppliers of rottendog boards.

If I were him, I'd try to claim it on my homeowners insurance :)

Yeah, its completely fubared, but all the suppliers say out of stock. They live far away from me,so Im just gonna tell them what part they need to start with, but who knows, other boards may be messed up if the power surge caused the problem. either way, the mpu board needs replaced!!!

If you post a pic of the corrosion, folks could chime in on the liklihood of it being repairable. Sometimes it looks worse than it is. And vice versa.

IF I was gonna buy a new MPU board, I'd certainly test the outputs of the power supply before placing my order. Your non-booting board is likely a result of the corrosion, but bad voltages would also cause a boot failure. So I'd just confirm/deny that before I ordered a new board.

yeah, it did have power to the board, power supply looked good. I talked to her on the phone and advised her of the mpu board it needs to start, but that they are out of stock. Ill leave it to her to find and buy the board. Tey are just too far away for me, if they could get it to me, i could fix it up eventually, i just need more time then just going there, alot of times when fixing a game, i need to research internet for an hour or so, and they are just to far away for tat. Oh well, thanks for all your help, you guys answered my question

Which fuses were blow, and did your friend disconnect the connectors in the head for the move? Williams games have two connectors that are almost identical and can be swapped when reconnecting everything. Doing this sends the wrong voltages down different circuits, and this is the only time I have ever seen multiple fuses blown, though power spikes could do the same...

yeah, i knew about those connectores, but they didnt take it apart. They dont know how, never have, and never will!!! They moved it fully assembled upstairs, supposedly sliding it on its back?? That confused me too!!!
