Fresh out of the cabinet shop

The cabinets they build are good prices. Check out their other Ebay prices on the built/completed machines... I dunno seems expensive to me.

Rough materials cost.

3 sheets of raw plywood = $130. Screws, glues, laminate, misc structural wood, etc, etc.

Not including labor.....should he sell these for $150? I know it's KLOV....but geez.

If your that cheap, i suggest building a raw cab yourself....after you spend $2-300....and a month of Saturdays.....you might consider $500 to have a professionally made cab a deal.

The more you know. ;)

We also do Tron & Williams cabs and Qbert

This is no suprise, from the last auction they did, we all know how Chattanooga pinball operates.

We all know their prices are high, ebay prices are way high.

Why are you guys complaining?

If your not going to spend $60 for a 60in1 bullshit china mame emu board, why are you looking at rlevins 1k+ reproduction cabs.

Now I am curious as to where he got the plans from and the artwork he is putting on the "new" pacman cabs...

But we are not supposed to ask questions of vendors.

Else you poke a sleeping snorlax.... And we all know... Snorlax....

My gripe with this thread is, why is it not in the new products vendor section

This does not belong in general.

But since it is.. I guess other members will piss on this guys hard work of saving original cabs, by selling thousand dollar multis and driving the prices of parts up on ebay.

Shame on the rest of you.

Complaining is what makes everything fun.

No one can get the qbert cab right.

Nice, all CNC'd or all done with template and cut out ?

Are you implying rlevin's qbert cab is not correct because instead of using a cabinet to take dimensions, he is using the available cnc plans on the internet which have known flaws?

Because how dare you imply, that rlevin is using other peoples work for free without giving back to the community. Rlevin is above that sort of reproach.

This is not TOG talking about using non-original tracings of other peoples original art.

These are whole cabinets, creating jobs for the american people. He made 1.... 1.2 jobs max on this.

Next you will say that this is COMPLETELY the opposite of restoring and preserving games since these are non-accurate cnc reproductions using high quality Chinese made pcbs, wiring harnesses, switching power supply, joysticks, and buttons.

He is working hard to create american jobs, and I do not think it's right he is being criticised.

Yes among other things.

Sorry the rest of your quote was throttled by cumcast.

For the lack of an answer I'll just assume all they use is melamine. I ended up getting a brand new multi game very cheap from a guy that wasn't happy with the board it had in it. It's in a midway knockoff made of black melamine.
The wood inside is very sawdust like. It's not even as hardy as mdf. (which isn't that hardy) I know they save a ton of $ by not having to sand or finish the cabs but plywood is really the only way to go for a brand new cab.

you just complained more than anyone else in the thread. It's like a butthurt paradox.

You aren't by chance referencing the free CNC plans I post on my website.... the plans that I (and a limited few others)have worked days/months to make or that I PURCHASED from CNCers with permission to post on the website..... the plans that are in many respects as good as the original plans with a focus on quality control that were made from tracing an original cabinet.... also that I haven't seen or asked a penny for them?

.... or that someone that I try to avoid doing any arcade transactions with due to poor experiences in the past is profiting from my / the limited community's work?

..... or that I have sometimes have sent the creators of some of the CNC files a few bucks when I have used their plans and made any money......

I just keep hoping for karma to come full circle...but I seem to keep waiting most of the time. Maybe I just had a rough day at work and got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I usually ignore this stuff and try to be a "nice guy" in the community.

They aren't plans from your site. Arcadeshop's been selling these for a while and they don't really try to be collector accurate. They are recreation cabs that have the look but not the authenticity.

The L-brackets are a give-away to the inaccuracy. :001_ssuprised:
Most don't look right to me ...

But, perhaps, they are not really meant for us hard-core collectors anyway ...

...so rlevin makes these for Arcadeshop.... Is that what your saying?

Why do you care? There's obviously a market for those cabinets. I'd much rather see someone put a dorky LCD and multiboard in one of those than convert a classic cabinet. Some people just want a single cabinet with many games in their house and don't care about it being an original cabinet. Arcadeshop is a great seller, Dale posts good deals from time to time, and the guy hosting the cabinet plans is doing a huge thing for the community.
