I got my Frenzy working finally - and for some reason there are no voices for the robots... all other sounds seem to be there...
Is this a dip switch setting?

Also I notice that when I power it up at the same time as my Berzerk that there is ONE LESS beep at start up than my Berzerk... Could this be pointing to the problem??

Flynn,

If Frenzy's boardsets are like Berzerk, there is a separate board/chipset driving the voice. You may need to check that board or the interconnect cable (if there is one) to see if that's causing the problem.

If I'm reading your post correctly, you are saying you have a Frenzy cab and a Berzerk cab separate, and upon powering up both simultaneously, you get one less beep? I know with my Berzerk, when you power it up, the first beep is loud as crap, and then the remaining beeps (7 I believe) are much fainter. Maybe you are just missing one of the final ones because another sound somewhere is masking it (possibly on the Frenzy boot up)?

Hope this helps some.

The one less beep shouldn't be saying anything... basically you either get a series of beeps which tells that passed the tests, or it stops after one of the beeps and that tells you which test it failed. My old Berzerk used to make a REALLY loud beep at startup (like VG said), but my new one doesn't do that... so that might be the one less beep that you're noticing too. You can watch the LED on the ZPU if you're unsure.

And yeah, there's a speech board... IIRC it's the lower left board on the tray. I'd verify that the cable going to it is good, and check for obvious stuff there first.

That is all really helpful information... I'm guessing that board is bad and I need to find a replacement somewhere...

And yes you were reading it correctly - I have a Berzerk and a Frenzy and when I turn them on at the exact same time - Frenzy has ONE LESS beep.
And yes both of my machines have that LOUD beep first...
