Building my own multi pcb since none around and seems some others are asking as well. Any demand for a run of these anymore?

Will they look like this, or will you scratch Mark's name out?

Doesn't Mark Spaeth have anymore of these kits available?

-Tim

No that I know of..I have posted wtb's for a while with nary one in sight... or hear of when they will be made if they will.. will be my own design and a just simple toggle for berzerk/Frenzy.. nothing fancy. I just got a Berzerk cab (finally) and will be testing the proto. Its far simpler than the pics posted here and don't know what extra mark's does/did since I have never seen one until now (obviously more than just a multi kit) but probably assume a high score save and battery replacement or powered ram. If I have time I'll see how hard to add on more but more than likely keep it simple.

I have to ask... Are you stealing Mark's design for these kits?

If I was, I would be building one for myself as a last resort and no-one else... but then again if I had one to copy, I wouldn't need to build one.. ;)
I guess zzpu is the wrong term as obviously Marks did more.. I'm looking at building a simple berzerk/frenzy kit... no frills.

wtf does that mean? think no-one else here is capable of running a pcb or making a simple switch for an eprom?

Your original post said you were creating your own ZZPU which is what Mark called his kit. If your making your own switcher for two ZPUs or something then that is different. But you can probably see why that would cause some concern. You did enough to change your original post anyway.

BTW - Here is Mark's feature list from an old post.

Features:
* Completely replaces the original ZPU-1000/1001 PCB
* No more worries about battery corrosion and oxidized sockets
* Modern, compact design
* Improved DIP-switch configuration
* Self test runs at power-up only, not when switching games
* All-TTL design (no programmable logic) ensures servicability
* Non-volatile RAM for high score saves
* No intrusive menus, for the original arcade feel
* Berzerk or Frenzy jumper selectable at power-up
* Unlike some other vendors:
ALL BOARDS ARE TESTED BEFORE SHIPPING

It is pretty clear that his kit did quite a bit more. Good Luck with your kit.... Perhaps you guys could start pinging Mark to make some more of that ZZPU goodness. :D

Your original post did say you were making ZZPUs... it sounds like you didn't understand what that implies. If you are attempting to make your own simple Berzerk/Frenzy switchable kit then good luck to you.

guys why be down on the guy for putting this out there? I know tester and he is one stand up dude with a nice collection, I for sure cannot see him copying Spaeths design, I do know he is pretty handy with a programmer and soldering iron , lay off and see what he comes up with

Like the pirating of frenzy and berzerk roms to make a switchable pcb?
Is that cool?

ROM != PCB design. The design is set up to run the ROM. Not the same at all.

Space_cowboy, you're right, if it's not a Spaeth knockoff then more power to him. I'll consider buying one if it's his own work. If it's not his work I won't consider buying one. Karma.

Nobody is down on him anymore... His original post said ZZPU which is name of Mark's kit. Pretty much everyone said if it is his own design, then more power to him!
