Fremont Street Experience - 80's Arcade Compilation

Hey guys,

I was in Las Vegas this past week and stumbled across something cool on Fremont St. They are running an 80's theme right now and part of the show is the video I shot; a compilation of some 80's arcade game footage. Thought you might like to see it.

Also they had this hanging in front of one of the stages...

Enjoy,

Chris

That is so friggan cool. I was just there last month, but saw a diff show. I prolly would have messed my pants had I seen that haha

Very cool. Hopefully those are all weather reproductions or it doesn't rain there very often.

ArcadeMaze!

Before I went, I was having a conversation with my dad about that same thing. He told me to look around the streets and I will notice there are no drain sewers on the streets because it rarely ever rains there. Sure enough, no sewers lol

Also on the Strip, they have outside escalators, which would probably not work too well if they got wet. hehe

That was pretty sweet thanks for posting! Funny part was the only guy yell and clapping by himself at the end and no one else really paying attention?

...

Pretty awesome and I really liked the Castlevania music during the NES stuff.

I actually posted this on my fb :)

The last TWO times that I went, it rained BOTH times. There was standing water on the streets the first time, and the last time the parking garage FLOODED at the hotel that our friends were staying at. The good news was that it was during November, and it snowed in the mountains nearby. I was able to go Skiing on the fresh snow on the first day the ski resort opened for the season...

First time I went to Vegas (August 2003) we had a torrential downpour on the Strip that maybe lasted 15 minutes. Flooded the streets completely... but rapidly evaporated.

On-topic, that was a very cool video. Thanks for recording/sharing it!

Yes, the video was VERY COOL. I have never been to Freemont street since it is in the "old" part of Vegas. My wife likes to stick around the "south end" of the strip...

Thanks guys! Glad you enjoyed it.

I really do wish that I could go check this out in person. Any idea how long this will be going on for?

The only thing I could find on the website is that the shows I saw were running though June according to their June schedule. It's part of the "Nina Blackwood's Absolutely 80's" theme/show right now.

In addition, the portion I filmed was only shown after two (I think) of the main performances (i.e. Queen, or KISS). I wanna say the 8p show and the 1a show (1a is the one I shot, and I think I originally saw the 8p)

I've been to Vegas about 40 times in my life and I've never seen it rain! lol

I have been there twice and it rained once. You would have thought it was monsoon season by people's reactions. They closed down everything...all the pools, anything outside. It was a drizzle at best, but by people's reactions, everyone thought they were going to drown.
