SOMEBODY GRAB UP THESE FREE 3FT TALL CASTERS!!!

D
The castering wheels are shipped and gone. They have a new home in sunny California, and very much like the relocation as they have been installed and are being used instead of just sitting around here like they were.

They sent me a postcard saying "Bet you wish you were here!"

I have a thing for free. Up for grabs is a "FAST GASSIN MISSILE COMMAND" Atari Hot Wheels 2012 Nostalgia Series 1:64 Scale Die-Cast Vehicle. It's unopened, but the glue on the blister pack is coming loose just above the car. The package is a bit dusty but intact. For a little free fun, I will include 3 keychains for any Games or Pins the taker chooses. Give me your titles and I give you the freebies. Taker pays shipping.

HOLY SHEET IT LIVES

One of the funnest threads of the past decade for sure. Wish I still had the ability to make custom stickers for stuff... (Well, for free, anyway)

Really? Well that stinks. I still have an envelope full of confetti sized stickers that falls over once in a while and makes me pick them all up and slightly curse you. I should really stick them to something. 😆

Is it still Friday?

I have an ATX power supply (previous test bench). A cordless drill with right angle attachment and goodies, some tools (brand new socket set, 1000 screwdrivers, some pliers, a bunch of stuff), a Winchester hand tools set (missing the money clip)…..

A cheap but functional DMM.

At least one caulk gun and 2 strap style pipe wrenches.

Some unused CRT neck connectors with factory wire attached.

A few card edge connectors (2x22).

This is from memory but it a whole pile of stuff.

All free for the taking. Come and get it!

This thread for sure was the most fun I've ever had on KLOV.

FYI. I still have a shit ton of **Billy Idol studded pleather bracelets. Claim one or two or five of them, just pay shipping.

**These are not official nor endorsed by Billy Idol.

I just stick them on my office garbage can. It's a mix of aviation and other stuff. Very colorful!

There has to be a story about these.....

I just got them at the thrift store one day and had planned to resell them.
that isn't the story....
....come on man, you can do better.

You were driving along, minding your own business, when a car darted out from the right side of the road, colliding with your car. It was a minor ding in your bumper, and you were honestly surprised when none other than Billy Idol steps out from behind the wheel. He apologizes profusely, and offers several of his studded bracelets if you just won't call the police. He also autographs some things.

You think about it, and say "Sure, why not?"

Now THAT's a story.

Well, I've got bunches left if you want some. Just send me a PM with your mailing address. Only costs me a stamp and a smidgen of time. LMK if there are particular ones you'd like to get and I'll see if I have any of those left.

I used to lagniappe them into Easy CoinUp envelopes for funsies.

Well, now I want to know why you shouldn't fly naked. 🤔
The organization's webpage (www.seeandavoid.org) is down right now. I don't remember what it was about - I covered Oshkosh for Private Pilot Magazine as their Avionics Editor back in the day. I picked up a metric ton of research material.

I think it was about having a new transponder (we changed the technology - a lot of us were still using the old 121.5 kHz crap, and we went to a new high frequency device. People hated them because they cost a bundle and didn't make your plane faster or better.)

Here is what AI says:

  • Purpose:
The primary goal of the website was to eliminate midair collisions and reduce near-miss incidents by promoting safe flight practices and information sharing between civilian and military pilots.

Makes sense. Without instrumentation you would be flying "naked". I'm sure the double entendre sold them a lot of bumper stickers.
😁

Yep, pretty much so.

I've been flying since 1989, and so far, I have had no use for my ELT. Still, if I crash anywhere (which is improbable as I maintain my plane well) this will help me be found.
