A friend of mine was looking to unload some extra parts and stuff he had, so I said I'd take whatever he was going to get rid of. Came away with a pretty good load of parts that I can use. Would have been a nice, easy free pickup; had my car decided not to get a flat tire in the middle of a construction zone on the freeway.
All in all, I got the following:
- Digital Multimeter
- Drummania parts: Extra cymbal pads, extra cymbal plastic, extra piezo sensors
- DDR Analog 573 logic
- Pump it Up MK3 logic
- 19, 25, 27 inch monitors
- NFL Blitz 4 player cabinet [missing monitor] -- converting to NBA Jam (or run both)
- N64 memory card reader
On the way home from his place, my front right tire decides to go flat. Perfect timing as I have a car load of monitors and parts, and am pulling a trailer with the Blitz cabinet. I had just entered a construction zone, with no shoulders; so I had to drive on it for another minute until I could pull over. Finally got to the side of the freeway, and put the spare on. I get back on and drive to the next exit. Take side streets for about 40 minutes (should have taken half that) to my parents.
I get a ride back home, and then take my car in the next morning to get new tires. I had just replaced the rear two about a month or two previously, so I was planning on doing the other two soon. Just not planning on this soon, but I guess my car decided otherwise. I finally get the tires replaced, pick all my parts back up from my parents, get home, unloaded; an am finally finished. Nothing like taking 30 hours from start to finish to move all this stuff, when it should have taken about 3. Either way, I came away with a pretty good haul of "free" stuff, except for the money I had to drop on fixing the car.
