Free Vend old Pepsi machine(cans)

The coin mech has 3 cherry switches one for Nickels, Dimes, Quarters.
I figured if I Jumpered the Quarter switch I could get a credit with a remote button.
So I connected a wire to the NO and another to the COM. I touched the wires together and "nothing" however if I remove the NO connector from the cherry switch and then touch my wires together it works. Is there a way I can have a remote button for a 25 cent credit and also have the coin mech work with a quarter?

Yes that's the connector, but I'm trying to not only put in the free vend credit switch, I also want it to still be able to take coins. Anyone know how to make it do both?
