I'm looking on the Forums at soda-machines.com, and they talk about installing a switch in order to make soda machines do the "free vend" option. I want to do this and set it up so that hitting the coin return rod will actuate it.

I was wondering if anyone here has done it and can provide any info?

Thanks,

VG

Yeah, I have done it. Let me find the diagram for it. It is really easy to do!!

Thanks Brian- I'm not a real good MacGyver when it comes to electronics rigging so, any pics or details on what you did would be great.

I haven't built the switch yet that the guy showed the diagram of because, as I mentioned, I don't do well with making things like that from scratch. At another point in those same forums, I inquired about a roller lever micro switch that I found at Radio Shack but I have not yet built anything like what the guy describes.

just jump pin 7 to pin 1, thru a momentary switch to pin 3. I started to adjust mine decided to just set it to 25 cents instead, and put a bowl of quarters on top of the speaker beside the machine. Course, if I didnt have a coin mech in it Id jump it in a heartbeat

just remember theres plenty of AC current running thru there

Roller microswitch will work just fine.. use the common terminal and the normally open and it will do what you want.

Here is the diagram in case anyone is interested in doing this. This is very easy to do and I have done it on a few machines myself.
