Hey so I really don't get on here much... my first time on in like a year... so if this has already been done, I sincerely apologize.

However, 26 of the games in my game room are on free play. 2 are not because I don't know where to get free play roms for them. I have tried searching google and generally find MAME or other emulator junk.

Does anyone know about free play roms for CRAZY CLIMBER and/or SPY HUNTER?
High score on CC would be nice too, but more worried about a free play rom -- have a perfect condition coin door so NOT going to add a button EVER ... need rom if it exists.

I've activated email notification so ill know when people reply -- wont take me another year to log on again... lol

Thanks,
Louis

I've gotten positive feedback for this hack from some people, however I believe there is a second version of the roms that it may not work with. If you have any issues, let me know

It seems on my machine, when I give it a whole bunch of credits, when I turn the off and back on, it remembers the credits.

Do other people's machines do that? How is this possible?

This is how I do free play on mine.

The standard SH does this as well. It's annoying when you have a arcade party and someone gives the machine 20 credits.... you have to start the game 20 times to clear it. And you have to start driving the for timer to start each time.

I like this...I just credit up like 100 credits and then the machine is on "free play" for a long time.

True. Spy Hunter doesn't have as bad of a static coin up screen like most games.

But with credits the game will not go into test mode.

The only way to clear the credits is to flip the test button behind the coin door. Power cycle the machine to get into the test settings then do complete "Preset" which will clear the credit but also wipe all saved HS as well.

Right, but the OP was asking about Crazy Climber. In case someone else was looking for it, I felt it worth mentioning.

So how does this Free Play work exactly? Does the weapons can just blink constantly waiting for someone to press it for gameplay?
It doesn't. It has a message something like press weapons van button to start game (or something similar- going from memory), and it runs in attract mode.

disconnect the big power supply plugs. the CMOS battery circuitry is at the power supply end. it's not practical where I'm at where the games are all in enclosed islands. I rigged up the free play in MAME years ago and forgot about it, may entertain doing this at work at some point.

I honestly had no clue CC had a HSS kit made for it. Very nice.
