I can't seem to find a link I used to have a list of some free play rom hacks

I'm looks for a Scramble one -- not sure if one exists? Something I can just download burn

Is there one?

Here is one but you need to edit the code yourself.

No you would also need extra game code to not blank the high scores on power-up, allow names to be entered for the high score table, option for HST reset etc...
In this thread (https://www.ukvac.com/forum/threads/scramble-high-score-save-updated.42939/), you mention "Saving the high scores on power-down needs the programme RAM 2114'S 1G, 1H, 1J & 1K replacing with an NVRAM equivalent, or of course it works with my single ROM/RAM board."

I'm guessing there is not a 2114 form factor NVRAM that we could source to use the code in that thread. Could a cr2032 be used to keep the ram alive in some way?

Something has been around for years for Pacman where a Dallas module is used to add some NVRAM. I did similar for my original Phoenix high score save which again replaced 2114's with DS1220 but both solutions used a PCB to plug into the board.

Whilst it was a suggestion, it was also not something I'd tried, but it was so people could see that I wasn't trying to force my high score save daughterboard onto them. I'm sure there would be a way of using a CR2032 (but not without blocking diodes and not using the stock 2114s as they would flatten the cell in a short time).

If anyone does succeed in replacing the 2114's with NVRAM they're still welcome to my 2016 high score saving code.
