Just grabbed this from a free post on Craigslist, it's a Stern Pop Flamer in a Scramble cabinet. Looks to be in good shape and solid, got there before the rain could do its damage, thankfully.

It's still jammed in my car, I'll get a better look at it tomorrow and share the progress.

Never played Pop Flamer back in the day (not that I recall), but I found it in MAME a few years back and it is FUN!!

Let me know if you want to sell some pieces!

Yeah I picked up a Scramble converted to Pop Flamer as well at the end of last year as part of a bulk buy. Unfortunately, mine has just the standard "STERN" side art and was/is in worse condition. It also booted to garbage before the flyback went out on the monitor. I haven't done anymore testing.

I traded for a working Scramble boardset so I'll probably deconvert mine. I'm interested to see what you do with yours!

Love how the RGB sub board from the monitor is hanging by the wiring. Never seen a Pop Flamer but in my experience Scramble cabinets have a tendency of being converted to Mr. Do.

Noticed that the original Stern power supply is still in the cabinet, those have a habit of being replaced by switchers. Wonder if it works.

Haven't fired it up yet. May give it a try tonight after work. Wanted it to dry off a bit first!

From the pics it's screaming full restore. That game had some really cool artwork. What a great find. Good luck. I believe there are stencils available if you need it.

The sideart is actually in pretty nice shape, I'd rather keep it original than re-stencil. Hard to tell I know because of the compressed jpgs from my phone. Aside from the "THC" on the right side it's not bad.

I was hoping the monitor bezel was just flipped over and the original scramble one was on the back but I took a quick look and it doesn't look like it's there.

The back door did see some water so that may need replacing but otherwise it looks solid.

Anyone have a pic of the marquee light from a cab like this? Looks like someone pulled it out of this cab.

I think it's cool you picked up a freebe on CL and it's cool you posted about it too. Pictures are always nice too. But come on, seriously, was the first picture necessary or helpful at all? I mean, a pic of the bottom of a cabinet? I like the other pics though. Scramble with the spaceman side art. Cool!

I thought that people would want to see that the bottom of a cabinet, that had been sitting out in the rain, was in good shape and not all waterlogged.

Plus I always think it's pretty funny when I can cram a cabinet in my Scion.
