Free Jukebox Manuals

I just got a nasty email from a guy selling copyrighted Rowe jukebox manuals on a cd rom. He stated in no uncertain terms you can't copyright a service manual.
.

You can copyright a service manual, but you can't copyright the "facts" in them.

So THEORETICALLY: you can take a service manual, and re write it (but not word for word) using your own drawings and distribute/sell them.

I really need a manual/service guide for a ROWE TI-2. Help!

Victory Glass manual numbers:

70-3337 (R-445) Rowe TI-2 Service Manual, 118 pages, $35

70-3338 (R-446) Rowe TI-2 Parts Manual, 64 pages, $25

70-3339 (R-445A) Package deal, both manuals above just $52.50

Just wanted to say your site has helpeed me allot repairing my jukes. I have used your manuals a few times. I think the amount they charge on e-bay or online is too much.Thankyou for posting them for some of us beginners.....Dave

The manuals that Victory Glass and Always Jukin' sell are not some cheap photocopies. They are professional reproductions that are offset printed on commercial printing presses from metal printing plates. This makes the original halftone photographs and schematics crystal clear & easy to see. They are on heavyweight archival paper and bound in a layflat binding with thick laminated covers. Some include service bulletins.

Many late model Rowe jukebox manuals (the CD100 series especially) are over 300 pages! Some of the sites with manuals scans are either incomplete manuals (sections/pages missing) or scanned in such low resolution they are difficult to use.

I'm lucky in that I own several original Rowe shop manuals for several models. These are the 11" by 17" binders that are now rare. These things originally sold for $100 each from Rowe. They contain full board schematics, parts layout drawings, component lists, service instructions, and component cross references. These manuals have never been reproduced. Every page in these manuals are 11 by 17 double sided.

Did Victory not get the rights to reproduce the shop manuals?
I'd guess there's a few people who would love to get their hands on those :)

At the time AMR Publishing (later assigned to Victory Glass) was purchasing the rights to the Rowe manuals, Rowe was still actively printing and selling the "Shop" manuals through their authorized distributors. So, no, Rowe retained the rights on the Shop Manuals.

new site up and running

just bumping this thread
domains transfered today so new site is where all manuals can be found now

Since this is now on the 4th page, I think it should be mentioned for the benefit of those who have not read through the entire thread, the manuals are no longer free.

yes about 2 years ago we made this a subscription site
after spending countless hours, and spending money to compile this collection we needed to cover some of the costs expecially on the juke manuals

well worth what we ask for a subscription ,and site is continually added to
