Free Friday! New KLOV feature too!

So I made a really basic vid of how to start to build your garcade using Sketchup. Again its really basic and assumes no prior Sketchup experience. Hopefully my crappy voice won't sound like nails on a chalkboard.

I'll have to see how it comes out once Youtube gets done processing, but be aware the audio is a little off at the end of the video but it still works ok. On top of that, I made one little mistake where I said a game is now 5 inches from the "ground" - I meant to say "wall".

Last but not least, incase anyone is interested, this is Google Sketchup 7, using Gozers's arcade models, and its recorded using a freebie app called Camstudio.

This is great! Could you embed this into the Sketchup thread too? I wish more people would watch this video to get a grasp of how handy this program is for layouts.

It's funny watching how other people use the program and how they use tools differently.

Thanks, my friend. Thought it was much easier showing ALL the current available cabs as a quick video to get everyone up to speed.

Space Harrier? hmmmm... How about an upright? I plan on measuring that and a few others next time I'm at my buddy's house.

A Upright would be awesome my friend, sitdown rules but then you would have to find one to measure that up, Funspot got one as I seen on the vids and website, might be one of the last few on this planet.
In Europe I'm quite sure it is extinct.
Yeah your buddy has an Upright Space Harrier cab, I remember that aweseome picture of the Sega wall :)

DUDE I CAN DO THIS NOW!!!!

Thank you!!!

And your voice is far from crappy, it's a cool low and calm voice that's excellent for this instruction vid or any instruction video.
Nicely done!!

Thanks - glad it helped at least someone! Sketchup is one of those programs thats very intimidating at first, but once you get a feel for it, you find its really easy to use and the sky is the limit. Its literally like virtual legos, or virtual construction. You can build a wall by making a 5 inch thick block, or you can literally start with modeling 2x4s and covering them with 1" thick drywall..its up to you.

Once I learned how to use it - I modeled our server room as I had to figure out if the janitor-closet sized space I was being allotted would work, and eventually I just kept doing more and more until I did the entire office building in it - literally. Walls the proper thicknesses, rooms exactly how they should be, even the furniture, tables, etc all right from the original blueprints, just as a learning experience. The architects' jaws dropped when I showed it to them...as it was literally how the real thing would look.

Here's another vid I did showing me sketching our weird cubicle system - little did I realize my office I used to enjoy would end up being in one of these (CENSORED) things. This vid shows a trick or two I think I forgot about.
