Two birds, one stone!
Today, I will be uploading my 250th model into my Google Sketchup arcade collection. This was my primary goal to reach as I first started uploading models into the Google Warehouse. Pretty good day for me, as now most every kind of cabinet style has been made available.
I choose to wait until today to upload number #250, because as of today we've got a new feature to KLOV.com. Certain game pages with created models will now have a link to them just under the Video link section. The link will take you to the corresponding game's Sketchup model page for download. Even if you don't have the Google Sketchup program (did I mention it was free?) you can still look at the image and rotate it 36o degrees to see arts and cabinet profile. Very handy tool to have. Here's basically how it'll look:
Find the link at the bottom
(see pic #1)
Click it and there ya go!
(see pic #2)
So there is 249 models currently on my collection, and another 30 or so great models from other KLOV members as well. Should be plenty to see for now.
The program is ultra handy. Use it to draw a quick layout of your gameroom/ garage/ basement, then you can download the model you need to fill it in.
Thinking about buying that Star Wars cockpit on eBay, but not sure how it will fit or look? Just download it and find out once and for all. Most models are accurate to within an inch. Perfect aid to determine square footage available.
OK so enough with the talky-talky! You want Freebies right? Well sweet! I'm in the giving mood! Were gonna play a game, but I'm gonna make you wait till dinner time to play it. I'll upload a quick slideshow on post number two of this thread. Watch the video. It will tour you around all the available models in my collection (as well as a few of the best from other KLOV guys collections). Model number 250 is in there too. Post a reply in this thread saying what the game is, and you win one of four free goodies. More fun than just playing a guessing game, and helps newbies see all of the models with a video.
You get to choose one of the following freebies:
1. $15 IPOD gift card. Perfect for obtaining IPOD songs. Also doubles as a good Christmas re-gift for that Brother-in-law you can't stand.
2. Up/Down shifter. Shift up! Shift Down! Up! Down! But eye! Always look at eye!
3. Hide the twinkies! Porkins and Yarna are the two biggest bariatrics in the Star Wars Universe. And they were made into the two fattest action figures. They'll look perfect on your gameroom shelves. Just keep your fingers away from their mouths.
4. Custom gameroom poster. I'll draw you up your own arcade on Google Sketchup, then print it on poster paper. Hang it in the gameroom. Hang it at your office. Hang it above your bed. Whatever floats yer' boat man.
So just hang in there 'till I get back from work this evening, and I'll upload the video.
