Anyone interested in the free defender that was on craigs last night? I emailed him and am first to get it. I do not have room.
it looked like the CP was not the original. Game did not work. Possible RAM error if I remember the posting correct.

He is in Milpitas. He requested I pick up at 7:00 tonight. I told him I would email/call this morning.
IF you want it - PM me and I will give you his number.

brought it home tonight

It's a mangled cab that someone very poorly "fixed" up. It fires up with great sound and then produces this error screen.
Look waht they did to the CP instead of getting a new CPO. Sides all jacked up.

The did weird bondo fills to the T-molding slots etc... there's no front bezel either. It was oddly modified that way. If I can get this working I'll transplant everything into my spare messed up cab after I replicate some panels or knock them off this cab...

Can not go wrong with that find at all. Free is always good. I been lucky and have found 2 freebies since I been in this hobby.

Nice score!

Can you advance past the ram error at all?

There should be a message flashing on the LED indicating the failure. I have assloads of extra RAM if you need it.

Tom

THANKS Tom

I can advance past it but there's a loop behind it so am stuck.

I have a spare Defender board set from a water logged cab I gutted. I intend to combine this into that cab because the sides were actually in good condition. I just need to rebuild the top for a partial restoration. I'm unsure if I want to 100% restore this one as I have still 2 other cabs to get restored before this one.

It may just go to a friend.

I'll try RAM from the other board first and ping you if i can't get any working chips off of it.

Originally I just wanted it for the G07 monitor... we'll see how well I can get it running before I fix the other cab and transplant everything over.

I'm moving my results to the repair thread.

Ok the last issue electronically was that it was stuck going up.

After testing of the harness and tracking everything down... I figured out that it was the I/O board. Luckily I had a spared worn and very weathered looking I/O board from my water soaked Defender that I shelled out.

I swapped it in and it works... Nice these things work out.

At least it's fully working now... need to work on my defender skills... I really suck...
Now I can figure out the restoration plans for the Defender... it really needs it...
I can't even begin to list how poorly it was "restored" but someone that sold it to the previous owner.
