Free Baltimore city dump score.....

Wow...Now thats lucky. Who in their right mind would dump that?

It's Baltimore. "Right mind" is an assumption which may not necessarily be the case here. :)

Go back to the dump. Find the guy. Give him $20 and your business card/phone number. Tell him if any other cabs come in to give you a call and you can put another bill in his hand if it is a taker.

Nice score.

+1000 Sounds like a good guy, you could probably parlay this into a very very helpful set of eyes. Never hurts to have more than just your own pair looking for cabs. :)

What a score ......... LL is an awesome game, they had one in the local arcade in London when I was a kid and have never spied one since.keep up updated on it !

Great save! It's amazing it made it this long all the way to the eventual violent death in a recycle yard only to be preserved. Good show!!!
Great picture btw of it in the wild, vulnerable yet enticing amongst the door stopped computers and tire bin flowing a river of soon to be retreads.

Free games from the dump are the best :D

Awesome save! Let's keep this hobby alive, one machine at a time...

Coincidentally, I'm heading to my local dump right now. Wish me luck. (I'd settle for a good 19 inch tube.. ) :)

Wow... what a great find! :beerchug:

At our local dump, they get *very* upset if you start even looking through the garbage. I've gotten to be on decent terms with a couple of them though so I'll bet if I asked nicely they may let me "grab and run". :)

Again, awesome find and thanks for the pictures!

I'm really glad that some jackass didn't come by and bust the tube or boards or that the previous owner didn't smash it or set it on fire. Very very very nice save :)

Just have one question for you guys............

Where do you find this "dump" that you speak of?

I don't know anywhere that you can drop off trash in any of the local townships.
I do remember 30 years back my dad taking me to one place in the city (a junk yard or something??) and I bought an old golf club to try and use the handle as an axle for a go cart.

I also visited a friend years ago that lived in Iowa, they had bags and bags of trash sitting in the garage that they had to "take to the dump". Thought it was one of the nastiest things, I'd get a dumpster before I'd drive all my trash to the refuse center.

In a city as large as Baltimore you have several smaller dumps besides the main one (that people picture full of seagulls and 2 story bulldozers) Normal household waste is picked up at the curb and ultimately incinerated....larger "bulk trash" trucks come around once a month and pick up say old appliances and furniture...if you cant wait you go to one of the smaller dumps and unload. Thats where this game came from. They have several large dumpsters in place and a "yard man" tells which one to throw into depending on what it is your trying to get rid of. Hope this helps.....

I'll go the opposite way... in a our small county the dump is open to the public. In the town I live in you have to pay for trash removal and we've found it way cheaper just to take our trash to the dump itself since it's not too far away. I go every 2 to 3 weeks and spend $2 or $3 a visit.

It's not gross at all. The actual "smelly" dump is way, WAY out back and basically you just pull up to very large dumpsters and dump your trash. They weigh your vehicle before and after and charge you by the ton. In my case I have my vehicle's weight on file so I only have to weigh-in and pay then.

You can cheat though and when you originally put your vehicle in the system make sure you have a FULL tank of gas. Then when you take your trash to the dump... make sure you have an almost EMPTY tank. :D

When we were kids they used to let people scavange through the dump and take anything you wanted. My dad used to pick up bicycles, go carts, mini-bikes, all kinds of cool stuff for us. I clearly remember climbing to the top of the mound of trash that was probably 30ft high. Lawsuits and irresponsible people are why we cant do stuff like that anymore.

PM sent, I will trade heavily in your favor for that machine. Its one of my favorite games.
