found "williams multigame" style art, questions regarding resizing it for printing

so, looking around, i found adobe illustrator files of the art for the williams multigame style control panel overlay and marquee.

here's the link if anyone wants it as well.

so, my multi williams will be a sinistar cab, and as such, i'm planning on having the art printed by gameongrafix (formerly mame marquees.) questions though.

i don't know very much about the vector art and what not, but from what i understand the art is made for a robotron style control panel, and as mine (sinistar) is smaller, i'll need it resized.

when resizing the art, does it in effect shrink it? i'm mainly concerned as far as the holes and whatnot for the sticks and buttons on the CPO, if it will make all of that too small, or how that works. can anyone that's had custom art printed chime in on this?

Not sure how much work you want to put into this project, but when I did my multiwms, I used those files as well and just edited them to my liking. They are vector graphic files and objects can be resized, moved and edited in many different ways. My MW is actually in a Kangaroo cabinet. It was free, and had been converted many times already.

You need a good program. Inkscape is free and will do anything you need it to. Adobe Illustrator is free for a couple weeks or so, and then big $ after that.

so is this something i need to edit myself, or do i just send the files to gameongrafix and let them know i need it printed to fix a specific size?

If it was me, I would edit myself, then print some mockups to make sure that things are going to line up where you want them to be. You may want to alter some graphics as well.

I have never dealt with Gameon, so I am not sure if they will do the editing for you or not. I would think with custom art, once its done, its done, so if it wont fit, it is not their problem.

Maybe find someone who has done a Sinistar cab already and see what file they used?

sent an email to scott @ mamemarquees regarding this, so i'll let you all know how it ends up. If I can get this printed it would be great. I don't really want to go with the ugly style indiana jones font multi williams art that is readily available...
