So, I was wandering down fremont in old vegas and I stumble upon a building with the name "Insert Coins". Whats more intriguing, is the "C" was in a pacman shape. This isnt something one expects to find at one in the morning while walking around, so my interest was peaked...very peaked. So I walk up, give the bouncer my ID, and go inside. What I saw was more than awesome. Lots and lots of classic games, all over the place, a bar in the center, covered in flat screen tvs with people playing xbox, ps3, etc, and on the right side are several booths that you can rent out for 15 dollars an hour playing nearly any console and nearly any game you want. This place is beyond cool, and has a lot of potential. It was very busy for a sunday night as well! I found the website for it, if you are in the area and get a chance, you should most definitely check it out!!!

Cool. I'd posted another thread asking for feedback about this place. Where the classic games 25 cents per play? Any pinball machines?

I think everything was 50 cents, as for the pinballs I think there were one or two in the back, Im not sure the titles at the moment, it was so much to take in at once.

seems like a cool place... but honestly when I want to play console games, I don't want such distractions with noise and me trying to be social. Arcades are another thing...

Unless it's FPS, fighting or music game... most of the console games are for me to for solo enjoyment.

were there a lot of people playing? at that price, i'd probably only play a game or two, then walk away.

Yeah, oddly enough, the place was packed! I was impressed at how many people were giving the classics so much love! It was like a dream, I even asked my girlfriend to pinch me haha

i can see the arcades working out well, but playing consoles would be too distracting. I'm sure they'll do okay since their business model is first, a bar, then gaming.

I hope they last long enough for my next visit to Vegas. Nice selection of games, but they need more pix dammit!

That place would definitely be worth a visit! Too bad they weren't open when I was in Vegas last November.

That's pretty cool. Now I know where to go next time when I visit my older brother in Vegas. Hopefully, it will still be open. I wonder if DK has a high score save kit. :)

I was there during opening weekend (I guess it is the joy of living in a tourist city).

Very cool place. The only really big issue with that place is their information. Even if you just walk in, there is a bunch of information they do not tell you.

I can tell you the information I know thus far (trust me, this information helps):
They can't decide what should be 50 cents and what should be a quarter. Some newer games are 25 cents, some newer games are 50 cents, and vise versa with older games. There does not seem to be much rhyme or reason why it is like that.

Also, their featured games are free to play at the bar. They are all console games for featured games, but whatever. It would be awesome if they had a single arcade machine that was a featured game and set to freeplay.

Drinks are overpriced. Well, by strip standards it is normal. This one is a small gripe from a person that lives here. See, on East Fremont Street, where there are way more locals than most of the other places in Vegas, drinks come much cheaper. A big portion of that is because there are a crap ton of locals that frequent there compared to other places. This place has standard tourist prices. When they charged me $10 for a white russian, well, I only ended up getting one drink that night.

It is 21 and older and they check ids at the door.

They have a decent selection of arcade games (I know for klovers, that is probably the more important part). I really enjoyed their classics they had. You can tell when you go over to there arcade portion (which is also right by the door, it is a big section) that they truly favor the classics. You have to go somewhere like GameWorks (on the strip) to get newer games.

The music is crazy loud there. Do not expect to listen to the ambiance of the arcade you are playing, because most of the time the music is so loud to where you can't even hear the game you are playing.

If you want to rent a booth, you need to get there early. When I went there, I got there at about 10pm, and all booths were filled. Booths are $15 an hour. If you are playing an older console game, it is not really worth it, but if you are playing ps3 or 360, 4 hours of drinking at a club playing a game, and you are good.

Their console selection is pretty good. Not many obscure games. Pretty much the common, non rare games that most people remember from the systems.

It truly does feel like a mix between an arcade that has console stations and full cabs and a night club. It feels slightly odd with that mix, but these guys pull it off.

Also, if anybody is in the Vegas area and ever wants to go on a Friday or Saturday, hit me up through a PM or something and I would be happy to meet you there.

EDIT: I have no affiliation with this place.
Their Virtua Fighter 2 cab is a disappointment. The monitor is totally messed up and not even all of the controls work on the game (when there are 4 buttons including the player 1 start button, that is not much to keep in working order).

Most of their games work very well, but some of them, since I last went, were totally not working well at all.

EDIT 2: if people want to see pics, I would suggest looking them up on facebook. (they are under "Las Vegas Classic Arcade Bar & Lounge")

Yeah, I agree, the music was ridiculously loud, and they were playing some crazy techno music, but the idea of the place is awesome. I was sad that the tron was not working while I was there. I did, however, get a few games of DK in and a little 720 as well. I think I paid six bucks for a bottle of fat tire, I will agree, a bit steep, but I was also spoiled by casinos where all you have to do is sit in front of a slot machine and they booze you up for free! I will def go back to this place next time I'm in vegas.

I was just at this place last night. Very great place if you're into dance music. The Trance music may be a little overwhelming for some serious gamers. Decent selection of games though. I think the fact that Fremont Street is on an 80s kick for the summer and has a few old machine (replicas) suspended over one of the stages will only help them out. The thing I fault them for other than lack of info is some of the best games weren't up and running. They had a Star Wars upright, a 720, and a Dig Dug (all dedicated cabs) that were off.

Tron was up and running, and so was Tetris, so I left a few high scores on that machine.

Their T-shirts were awesome as hell though. a Nintendo ROB spinning records. I really wanted to buy one, but had to dart by the time I found out they were for sale. I sent them an email hoping they'll let me order one.

I was there last weekend too and I agree with most of what was posted. The bar lighting is cool. I would have increased the volume of the arcade games so that they could compete with the music at the cabinet, but not elsewhere. When playing the games you couldn't hear them very well.

Terminator 2 was on the TVs, which added to the vibe.

Fun place overall, but I wish I hadn't been at the Pinball Hall of Fame just hours before. PHoF kind of ruined it for me.
