Found a converted Vectorbeam Warrior cabinet! Worth anything?

So, I found a donkey kong machine that was actually converted from a vectorbeam warrior cabinet. I know that's what it is since the side art outlines are visible, and confirmed it by peeling some of the paint and the art covering it. It also has a vectorbeam tag on the back.

Unfortunately there are no other warrior remnants. No monitor controls or anything. The wood is in fair shape, coin mechs and speaker are there though.

What a sad shame it is to see such a nice game cannibalized! Makes me sort of sick.

Anyway, is the warrior cabinet as it is worth anything? Would this be useful to anyone needing it for a restore project?

I could be way wrong, but I don't think it is feasible to try to do up a Warrior from a bare cabinet. I just don't think the parts are out there.

Honestly, probably be best for a Mame cabinet, you could even inkjet repro the basic artwork kit for it to make it look decent.

I would be interested in the cab if you are close enough to me. I have been acquiring parts to build a Warrior some day.

Where are you located.

Well, I am in Washington, near Seattle right now but I will be in Virginia near the end of the year for a few months. I swing up to Maryland a few times during these trips. If you are willing to sell it and are willing to sit on it for a few months please send me a pm and let me know what you want for it.

I just got it but if you can use it to restore a warrior cabinet I'm fine with letting it go.

What do you think it's worth? I'll post up some pics soon of the problem areas.

If I had all the Warrior parts and no cab I would pay a fair price for the cab. It is not worth much to anyone else unless you want a very, very long term project. I would start at $150 for the cab and go lower as needed.

-1 on this. Im not a fan of maming a rare vector cabinet. I say if someone wants this or could resotre, get rid of it for cheap and take the karma..

Thanks, glad to know someone is reading my posts!

I do apologize for asking about worth in 2 of my now 5 posts. In my defense I figured it's a reasonable thing to ask considering I'm willing to sell it and this forum has members interested in such an item.

No need... All in good fun. And your thread probably got a little more visibility because of a little ribbing. And the pics helped too. Yeah, I would say I would take $50 on it... to haul it away for you;)

I was thinking somewhere in the vacinity of $150. From the pics the only thing that really has me concerned is the credit button someone cut into the coin door. Also, I am really only interested in the cabinet. I do not want or need the monitor, board, or DK artwork.

It's worth what someone will pay..

I'd just give it away and let the other guy pay for it to be shipped. As a DK in that cab looks kinda dumb :)

Make another collectors day, and hook him up..

I agree in theory, but history is shown that I can dig up all sorts of rare converted cabinets that other people think should be deconverted but that no one ever actually seems to want them.

I have a 19 in 1 installed in one of the leftover Stern Cliffhanger cabinets (the ones that got used for other games) and Video Trivia in a Crazy Climber Deluxe and no one has ever expressed a lick of interest in either one of them.

I see that often, it is really a question of location. In this case the owner is in a location that I would be willing to retrieve the cab from. Can I deconvert it? Maybe, I would certainly like the opportunity to try...

I think 150 is fair. If you want, PM me to work out the details. I'll start taking the DK parts out of it before you pick it up.

I would personally hate to see something like this get 'mamed'. It has the potential to become something great, if one has the parts to restore it.

I have had a bug in me to create a Vectorbeam Warrior from scratch. I do have access to a lot of the tools to build it. However, I believe that my emulation would have to be done without a vector monitor in order to use an emulator. Unless there is another way to emulate vector games on a vector monitor?

Additionally, I live in the Chicagoland area. If someone else in the area wanted to build a cabinet as well, since I am going through the efforts of creating one from scratch, we may as well do two of them.
