found 2 old arcade titles. speed freak and jump shot

i recently found 2 old arcade games that i havent purchased yet.....1 is a vectorbeam speed freak that does work and is in nice shape. the other is a midway jump shot. the jump shot powers on and the monitor lights up but......you can see the general outline of what its supposed to do but there are alot of unwanted characters on the screen. you can see the 2 players moving, (and they do move with the joystick) and you can see the ball bouncing but there is alot of red/orange characters in the spaces around them. you also cannot see any of the background (basketball court)..........

are either of these "desirable titles" to get? does the jump shot sound like a board problem or a monitor problem? i was told it worked fine then 1 day it just quit

Jump Shot is not a desirable title at all. It was an ultra cheapo conversion kit for Pac-Man machines. Only buy it if you want to turn it back into Pac-Man. Sounds like a board problem, won't matter though as no one wants a jump shot.

Speed Freak is fairly desirable. It is a vector title. Would probably resell for $400 or so (could go way more if two local vector collectors get into a bidding war).

If it were me I would offer $200 total for both and go from there.

Jump Shot = run away, worthless. Only way I'd even consider this is if you have to take it to get the Speed Freak. If that is the case, I'd offer $20 for it, basically to grab the monitor and then part it out and trash it.

Speed Freak = works, nice shape? Grab it. Pretty uncommon vector game. Working and nice shape a definite plus. If you're just looking to resell, should be a quick easy resell. Previous person mentioned $400. You probably can get a little more, maybe $600-800 if you are willing to wait a bit. If you can get it for $200 or less, go for it.

Post pictures! Try to capture when the vector cow is on the screen!

alrite.....i kinda thot the jump shot wasnt worth much. its in nice shape but dont work right. i figured the best i can do with it is use the marquee to hang on my wall (lol)
the speed freak is in nice shape and works. i played it and yes i saw the COW!!!!. the seller says he wants to maybe/probably keep the speed freak for his grandson to play. id like to get it because i enjoy car themed machines (pinball or arcade). he has 3 machines for sale for $25 each machine. 1 is the non working jump shot, 2 is a non working bally rapid fire (pinball/gun game), and 3 is a non working but nice shape rockola 456 console jukebox. the speed freak is looking like i probably wont get it. id offer a little more for it.....it is neat with the stick figures.

I'd just like to say, I dont' know why you have to ask opinions on whether or not you should buy arcade games that cost 25 bucks. Fullllllly expect them not to be there when you go back.

I would have taken the Jump Shot at $25. It will be in a Pac-Man cabinet at least and those aren't as easy to come by with a dead worthless title in them than they used to be.

Even if the guy loved the Speed Freak, if he's only asking 25 bucks for three other games including a pinball machine... he probably would have sold his speed freak for 100.

Speed Freak is one of those games I'd love to own some day. At least for a little while. Love the vectors. Very cool and unusual title to see for sale.
