Forgotten Worlds price check

Do you have any pictures? I'm assuming it's a dedicated cabinet with spinners?

If so, due to the rarity of it, I would say $600-700. I can't imagine it would go for any less if it really is 8/10.

Complete, dedicated machine: $300 - $500.

Parts: $700+. The controls alone go for big $$.

$300-500 for a dedicated machine? I'm not saying that's not possible (it always depends on the seller), but that seems low.

Like you said, parts alone add up to probably about $700+/-. And a dedicated cabinet is pretty rare to find in any condition. It's more rare than a dedicated Ghouls 'n Ghosts which usually fetches $500-700 as well.

I sold a 9/10 machine for $900 to a ex-Capcom coworker which is a friend.
It was in fantastic condition and I could have probably gotten that price from a few other people.

$700+ depending on condition is what I say. Your price is for a pretty low condition machine. The board alone is $175+ but a complete CP is the money ticket as those spinners are really HTF. Art also in impossible to find NOS of... it hasn't been replicated yet.

come on guys? time sensitive....nobody has an idea what it might be worth?
One hour and you sound all stressed? Where's the emergency?

It seems, to me, to be this sort of machine:

Seller: I've got a fully-functional Forgotten Worlds PCB, original harness, and fully-populated control panel.

Potential buyer: SWEET! Take my money; whatever you're asking, it's not enough!

Seller: Oh yeah? Well, I've got even better news: it's all together in a perfecty-working, dedicated cabinet!

Potential buyer: Oh...er...um...I dunno...$400?

And if I was the seller, I'd say "No, sorry." :)

And if I was the seller, I'd say "No, sorry." :)

I'd probably be a little more unfriendly than that. :D

But there's definitely a discrepancy when it comes to parts price vs. working dedicated units in this hobby, and it's a sore spot. Maybe it doesn't apply as cleanly to Forgotten Worlds...

Picking this up tomorrow. I talked to the guy on the phone and through email. Its been sitting in his gameroom for the last 15 years+. Its the only arcade he had. The rest of the room was filled with a pool table, dart board. Air hockey and so on! Its in sweet shape. 100% working. Ill post pics when I get home tomorrow! Thanks to everyone who chimed in! We did some trading so it didn't cost me anything!

...

imho the game is worth around $600. I think in parts its worth more.

I have one now and love the game :)

Yeah I am sooo stoked to get this game. Was one of my faves as a kid. Heres a pic of the actual machine. Quality sucks but I will take better ones after I get it home!

Jon...I remember selling you my extra and mostly NOS kit back on RGVAC about 10-12 years ago (and as I recall, for an obscenely low amount of money :)).

I had to sell my dedicated machine a while later during a move....I thought I'd just pick up another one somewhere later along the way. I haven't seen another one since. Time and perspective makes me think that I should listen to my inner hoarding instincts more often!

Great game. Congrats to the OP on a nice pick up!

heh, is this the one from the guy in Silverdale who kept saying he would not break up his gameroom lot? looks like he finally got tired of posting it over and over and not selling.

Yes that's the one. On the ferry now. Will be picking it up in about 20 minutes. Will post pics later!
