I had no idea how to get a new coin mech to get in correctly until I saw someone's post that had a link to do so. That was quite helpful to know to get rid of the stubs on one side.
So I finally am able to get it in there but it wasn't quite set properly and the coins kept rejecting. I was noticing them stuck in this little compartment on the inside of the coin door. I decided to take off the coin door instead of leaving quarters stuck so I could turn it upside down to get the rejected coins out. After getting the coin door put back on, I tried again with the mechs after adjusting them, and got some more coins stuck in there. I was really annoyed and frustrated at this point and wasn't going to take the coin door off again. This was yesterday.
So I realized early this morning while sleeping, that the compartment is the reject coin slot from the front of the door. I get up this morning and easily retrieve the coins from the front that I couldn't get from yesterday's attempts to use two screwdrivers and playing operation from the inside of the coin door.
Man, what a rookie mistake! heh... Now I can laugh about it. I was so concerned about getting them set properly that I threw out some logic somewhere in the middle.
Happy New Year all!
