I have my orders from the top. With the holidays coming and 2 little kids looking for a romper room for the Winter, I have been given my eviction notice. Per agreement, I will be reopening my arcade next door, in what is now the Starlite Theatre. Kinda sucks but what can you do? It's less overall square footage but more wall space, if that makes sense. I wish I knew how to use those room layout programs all you savvy dudes were using to sketch out the game placement in the new space. My rough estimate is 15 cabs, including my Pole Position cockpit and my Millipede cocktail. It may be a temp solution until my kids get older, it may be permanent, I really have no idea at this point. I am actually kinda excited to see how the new space will turn out, and I still get to keep the Outer Limits, so it isn't all bad. Anyhoo, R.I.P. Galaxy Blue.

Oh well. The room I am moving into is done in red, so it looks like I'll be designing my own "HellCade". That's got some potential. Space theme in one wing, hell theme in another, what could be better?

Telling the kids and wife to suck it up and leave your arcade alone?

I did it to myself by having too much in one area. Pinball, GT/WCB in a Virtua Fighter cab, Pole Cockpit, Red Tent, several regular sized uprights, Space Wars, Millipede cocktail, juke box, 2 dartboards, bar, big assed dining table, Leather loveseat, fireplace, etc, etc, etc. It was getting cluttered looking, and she finally said 'enough'.

Sorry to hear that bud. But on the bright side, you'll still have a place for a good amount of games. Good luck with moving and rearranging everything. You have to keep the wife happy. It's the same reason my tiny game room is even smaller now. But it's good that she even lets me keep games in the house at all. She has her craft/music area in the same bonus room and I take up about 75% of the space. Family comes first, no question. There's more important things in life to worry about than games and space.

You have to tell her that the Galaxy Blue sign stays up, though.

And you need to hold to your guns on this one. Think of it as a 'bookmark' to save that room for later. ;)

I did it to myself

Don't let her convince you of that! ;)

BTB - whatever happened to kids playing in their rooms? Thats what we did growing up. My wife wants a "playroom" too, and I asked why? The kids room isn't just for sleeping. Play in there. Thats what me and all of my friends did growing up. We didn't have "playrooms" or "nursery's" or whatever the hell else all these DIY shows tell you is necessary. We had our bedrooms, and we spent a lot of time in them playing.

Why that bitch, do you have any other prospects? :D

...and when we left our room and bothered our parents, they told us to go play outside.

Yeah, I grew up with three brothers. We always shared and played in our 2 rooms. Then, there's the rest of the house to run around and play. Then, there's playing outside. But I guess if you live in a place that has snow storms, that's not the best option.
