.....keep a pin in their lineup because of the plays it gets from guests and not necessarily the degree to which you're in love with the pin?

some of these recent threads got me thinking along those lines....

i love my pin lineup, but i have to say that starship troopers gets more love from guests than it does from me. i mean, i like the pin, but if i were to start selling, it would be the first to go.

so i'm curious........anybody else out there have a pin that they don't necessarily LOVE, but you still keep it because it gets a ton of plays during get togethers/etc??

Yes

But it comes down to a few things. How often do you get folks to come over and play, are the folks who visit interested enough to play good games and appreciate them, and are you focused on upgrading your arcade?

I have two days a week where folks come over and they have favorites, but they always love a new game and give me no grief when one goes away. It is your arcade and folks will always have fun when they come over.

I was sad to see Pinbot and Baby Pacman go because people really liked them, but my collection is so much better now that I kept on upgrading my machines and I am sure they would agree.

I don't have any games that I don't necessarily play, unless they are broken. The one I probably play the least however, that gets a lot of love from guests, is SM.

I seem to go through phases with my pins were I won't play one for awhile, then I'll play the hell out of it.

I have a pin or two that I keep around because they get alot of play with guests.. Why? So they don't play the games I like ;)

Guests just like that its a room full of pinball machines....I've never really noticed a specific one they like better than others.

...and if they did, I don't care. I keep games *I* like. :)

I have some pins that I actually have not played in a year. That is the problem of having a big collection and having friends with big collections.

not sure how big your collection is, but i'm guessing it's more than my 8 (working) pins. lol.

i WISH i had friends with a big collection...hell, ANY collection...i'm the only one i know with any pins. lol.

if i had other pins to play close by, i may be a bit more apt to sell some pins off and try to get some new ones. ;)

We only have room for three.

Space Shuttle is clearly MINE.

STTNG is OURS.

Stargate was supposed to be HERS, but she doesn't like the gameplay, and I could take it or leave it. It's a pretty machine to look at though.

No, our pins are mainly for my family and no one else.
What my wife, myself and our daughter like is different enough that there's not one game that non of us likes and is only for guests..

World Cup Soccer 94 is just the best pin to get someone interested in my arcade.

Last night Kara came over for the first time and played WCS94 for an hour. I gave a couple tips and she rocked the machine. Moved over to T2 and played that for another hour. She only played 2 of my pins, but had a blast. WCS94 is just so happy to see people and it sucks them in. I love the game and it will stick around for as long as I can see because I like it and others do too.

My guests seem to like Rocky & Bullwinkle, but I hardly play it. Thinking of selling it, but don't want to have to move it downstairs again, a royal pain...
IJ gets most of the attention though, from anyone who visits.

I would say that Attack from Mars gets a lot of love in my collection from guests, and I love the game so I guess that doesn't fit. This title just clicks with guests and people love the martians and center saucer shot.

My wife loves LOTR and STTNG, and I could never get rid of them since she plays them all the time. Anything to keep her interested in the hobby is a good thing!

I recently sold one that I liked but didn't love. Now that it's done, it will be much easier to do it again. I have limited space and I would l not llike my hobby enjoyment to get stale.
