"This is a dedicated game not a kit." (Wrong.)

"It is extremely rare only 30 are documented in the US and 14 of the 30 are kits." (Sigh.)

"I was having problems with the monitor and took it out. I can replace it with a flat screen (it really makes a beautiful picture) for another $300.00. If it doesn't sell in the next couple weeks I will do it anyway." (Wonderful.)

I think he got his number 30 from KLOV.

Common - There are 30 known instances of this machine owned by Pac-Man Plus collectors. Of these, 16 of them are original dedicated machines, 6 of them are conversions in which game circuit boards (and possibly cabinet graphics) have been placed in (and on) another game cabinet, and 8 of them are only circuit boards which a collector could put into a generic case if desired.

problem is that it says 16 are kits, not 14... and it's considered common, not rare...

also... the vaps page says no one wants it... but there is one guy on the census page for it

That's sad. Would like to have a mini, but price is way too high. No monitor , no back door in the pictures. Who knows what else is broken/missing.

Oh well.

If there are only 16 kits out there, then I own 1/8 of the kits in the world! Anyone want to pay me $10k for them since they are soooooo rare. :) The only non-Pac-Man part of that game is the marquee, glob and ROMs. All are quite easy to come by.

That guy is clearly mistaken and doesn't even know it.

I own another 1/8th! And an extra set of ROMs :)

I asked him about the monitor, and he said it was too far gone, that he'd take it to a guy to fix it, who ordered a part from Japan and the game still froze.

I've got a set of Pac Plus ROMs and two epoxy blobs as well as Boardwalk Casino marquee and bezel, Shoot The Bull control panel, ROMs epoxy blob and trackball interface PCB. What can I get for all of that?

Oh yeah, and two partially working Super Pac Man power supplys commonly listed on Ebay as "Ms. Pac-man 70VA Power Supply."

Man, I'm sitting on a fortune.

well i just need to say this. and it should have it's own thread on the forum, but here it goes.

greg mclemore, or whoever is incharge of the klov/vaps listings, please take the damn rarity listing option out. it's completely making idiots like this go rabid when they try to sell there games. if each listing just said about the gameplay itself, and all the other info it would be wayyy better.

I actually seen a mini cab but it was a Ms pacman when I pick up my last 2 arcades and that guy wanted 400. Monitor gone, monitor plexi gone and board was just loose in bottom of the cab I pass on it.

That is a great idea. It was a good concept, but so deceptive for normal folks who think the Internet is always right.

I agree. You can put the biggest "Rarity does not necessarily indicate value" disclaimer possible on there, but it won't make a bit of difference.

I would say this part of KLOV:
"Rarity is NOT necessarily an indication of value. Some common games show up as very rare here because collectors don't want them even though arcade operators might be sitting on tons of them in warehouses, while some fairly scarce games are grabbed by collectors every time they show up"

-----truly needs to be the FIRST thing listed but also needs to be in bold letters and possibly flashing. The current problem is most people won't scroll down to see it. The wording cannot be any more clear.

If you want rarity, it should be a value that is voted on by VAPS members or something. Calculating based on VAPS registrations is just wrong and we all know it so why put it even with a disclaimer? Make the raw stats available to VAPS members on the VAPS site. :)
