Cabinet differences between a regular SS and an SS Deluxe:

1. high gloss cabinet.
2. dedicated 25" monitor.
3. the strips on the side of the cab are only 2 colors instead of 3.
4. the art around the monitor is 2 colors instead of 3.

Can you measure the sides? Im looking to put a 25" monitor in mine and this would make the job of fabricating the cabinet head easier.

What monitor is in that thing?

This atari super sptint deluxe is almost the same italian version (eu version?)

See the photo here:
http://www.arcadeitalia.net/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=6999&hilit=super+sprint

There are other difference between usa version and deluxe (italian) version):

1) artwork in the cpo is different (up usa version):

2) label above the coin door in usa version usually is black with whithe words, in this model is white with black words:

3) there are door fot take money under the coin door (in usa version is never there)

You can do other photo?

I have reproduct the artwork for this cab:

Im pretty sure its an italian machine. Some sort of Atari License.

I posted the pix so we would have it documented on the net before I lose the pix perm.

In italy factory only "F.lli bertolino" have the license, this super sprint is very similar to your deluxe version, i think that this version is a mixture between usa/italy version...

Any gameplay differences? I love me some Super Sprint! I've owned 3 of them, but currently without one.
game play is identic, the pcb board and is the same, steering wheel is the same ecc...only the sound board is different
eXidy where is your sound board? you can do photo?

P.S. Atari super sprint is FANTASTIC

Back in the day I purchased every game from a Daytona Beach Arcade. One of the games there was a Super Sprint with a hacked in 25" monitor.

The monitor neck stuck out of the small square hole behind the game. So I guess it would work, but you would have to build something to protect the neck/neck board.

This is the strange italian version of super sprint 28 inch (25" med res), i don't like it...

Sorry for digging out this old thread...but I finally got my hands on a Super Sprint. It's the italian version and it has the large monitor, which adds a lot of fun IMHO.

My cab only contained the schematic package and a manual for a Wells Gardner 25" monitor. I single sheet of paper says Super Sprint 26"...haven't measured the size of the tube yet.

Does anybody know if there is a specific manual for this machine?

One thing I will change: we brought the game to Eurocade in the Netherlands after picking it up in Belgium and played it a lot. The gameroom was quite dark and it was hard to find the start buttons. Will replace them with lit transparent ones.

edit: no clue why the 2nd picture is rotated

For the record: don't know what makes you think this is an italian version.....the label on the back of my cab says it was built in Ireland ;)

And I found a letter, also from Atari Ireland, which says this is a Atari Super Sprint 26" and that there is no manual available. I will add a scan of the page tomorrow.

Hi, sorry, this is italian version (by elettronolo):

Your version is made in ireland, i have some manual/schematic, please do pic of power supply, pcb audio and chassis of monitor

@patryck: so it's actually the strange irish version? ;)

I like this version just the way I like the regular one. The version with the speaker bar under the monitor might be better for the stereo effect, not sure about that.

Will take pics this evening (if I remember to do so  )

@mrbill: hm, maybe they replaced the 19" screen with the larger tube themselves and used a generic bezel.

Damn I love this game, and a 25" version of it is pretty damn sexy! I NEED one of these!! Anyone got one in Florida they want to sell?

OK, here are some pics of the 25" chassis, CPU-board, Video-board and power supply on the bottom of the cab.
