ok, bought the dk2 daughter board from arcadeshop. 1st one i got had issue's with garbled crap on the screen when playin dk2 real bad. but nothin much was wrong with it on the dk side till ya got to the cement factory. pull the daughter card and put the z80 back in and works fine..... so i sent that 1 back and they finally sent me another.........well.....same prob.....again.....now, with the board in the boot screen comes up and everything reads as OK. go to the settings menu and pu in the settings i want......save and ok.....then..... scrambled boo-fun-goo. anybody have any idea's on this???..and YES, i have the daughter card seated in all the way as with the z80 chip.

oh, on a side not the DK board set works fine without the daughter card installed.

Have you tried changing out the Z80 socket on the DK boardset? The original sockets weren't that great, and a nice dual wipe socket may fix your problem. Radio Shack even carries them locally.

I do not have one of these but Is there much extra current draw with the extra board? check voltages with and without the extra board installed.

For what it's worth I had issues after installing the kit. I had sporatic graphical glitches even though the test menu showed everything was ok. I sent Jeff pictures of the issues and he said he was puzzled and there was one other person having a similiar issue. If I removed the kit everything worked fine. Eventually the problem worsened to the point everything was glitching out. The issue was solved by buying another boardset which worked - then I swapped boards and found the CPU board to be the culprit. Dick Millikan will charge you $45.00 plus your boardset. At this point I think you should get rid of that board set.

the board set i have now came from Dick just a few months ago.

And it doesn't mean the board can't be or isn't defective. If you don't have someone locally to test that kit out for you then send Dick the entire kit and kaboodle and tell him you want him to put the HS kit on another board set and burn in for 12 hours or so to ensure proper operation. Dick sent me another boardset that started defecting after a few days. Not criticizing his work but I'm a firm believer and preacher of "It's man made and bound to fail - the only question is when"

I guess I don't see it mentioned that you've checked/reseated the PCB ribbon cables.
