For Sale: The Getaway: High Speed II (with pics and price)
***** Edit: This game is now sold *****
This is the for sale thread for this game. I had previously put out a "feeler" thread here: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=299534
This machine belonged to a friend of mine who has passed away. I am taking care of this sale for his wife.
I have taken a lot of pics and played the game some today.
I am asking $1500 for this game. That is the price, I don't think I'll be coming down any. Note in the previous thread that is what is considered "buy it today" price.
When I turned it on a few days ago, it had a sticky right lower flipper. I played it today for 20 minutes, and all 3 flippers worked perfectly the entire time. The sticky flipper problem may come back.
There are 4 "check switch" issues that pop up in test mode. I expect these are all easy fixes.
One of the circular (yellow) targets is broken in half. I see these on marco's website for $7.
The right and front of the machine are faded. The left side looks un-faded.
The game appears to me to work well. I played it for a while today. It has good response, strong flippers. I didn't notice any issues other than what is in this thread.
Many of the pics have glare and make it look worse than it does in person.
It was very bright today and I noticed more scuffs and smaller issues than I noticed before, when it was darker in the room.
I noticed a couple lights not working. Obviously these are trivial fixes.
The back of the game, where the top part hinges down for travel has some gouges. You can see that in the pics. It it were mine, I'd just paint it black.
There are some scuffs and scratches on the cabinet.
The coin mech is set up for Italian Lira. The right one of the 3 looks like it had rivets inserted into it to prevent coins from being inserted, and the rivets have now fallen in to the coin entry area.
The manual is included. The coin box is missing.
The batteries have been moved off-board (so there is no evidence of acid damage I can see on the board at all). They have been bundled up in tape with wires directly attached to them. If it were mine, I'd buy a $5 battery holder for them.
I have described this as best I can, noting everything I could find in my inspection. I consider it a working game in decent cosmetic shape that has not been shopped. It has minor issues (lights, switches) that are simple to fix.
$1500
I'm probably not going to come off that. If it doesn't sell for that, I'll put it on ebay for more.
I'm going to add a lot of pics now. Might take several posts to get them all added.
If you are interested, contact me here via PM. This machine is located in Alexandria, VA.
Shipping is possible. You'd need to take care of all the arrangements.
I think this is a good game at a great price, I expect it should sell quickly. I could sell it for more, but she wants it sold fast.
Pics begin. Sorry that some of them are rotated. I don't know why it does that. #$&*#@$#@&
