every once and a while i grab a hand ful of quarters, head down to my arcade, walk up to one of my games and drop some in!! not the same as back in the day but very a close second! anyone else get nostolgic about droping quarters? just askin.....

Have to drop the quarters to hear it move through the mech and clink into the coin bucket. It doesn't feel right to play the game without doing that first.

Hardnod.

I do it, but I feel like I have to play the game... At least for a few minutes. :D I got hooked up with a bunch of free coin mechs from a good guy on here, so all my games (except the mame) finally have mechs working. It is cool to put the quarter in. Now I understand...

Every time I'm around a arcade that has anything close to a classic I drop a couple quarters hoping it will be there the next time. I'm about to go on the families summer vacation heading to Myrtle Beach There is a arcade on the beach that has probably 30 nice working pitch and bat machines. Sure I will drop several dollars again this year

agreed. all my games are non-freeplay for that reason. i have a funspot cup about 2/3 of the way full with quarters for the games.

I set all my games for pay-per-play and use it as a way to save some extra money. If I have people over though they are set on freeplay but when I play I pay. I have not counted any money in the machines for over a year so hopefully in another year or two I'll have enough for another game or a vacation.

Absolutely. In fact, some of my games aren't on freeplay and don't have a credit switch just so I can do this. I keep a quarter dispenser hanging around the arcade.

I was at vintagegamer's arcade last weekend and he had quarters all over the place. Every one of his games must have had them lined up on the bezel or marquee. It was fun dropping them into Tron. I think I'm going to make that sound my doorbell chime.

I used to connect a credit switch to the coin return button on all of my games, but I've been slowly converting them back. I like the sound Q*bert makes when you drop in the quarter.

For me, coining up is part of the nostalgic experience. Plus, having a token dispenser gives me one more machine to tinker with. :)
