I don't know much about the Mortal Kombat boards.
Has anyone put multiple MK boards in 1 cab? Say like, MK, MK 2, MK 3 etc??

I know they are all JAMMA but does each game have a different sound board too?

I have an offer for $250 for a MK 3. I am deciding if I want it or not. I was not really a fan of MK3, but wondered about switching out the board set, or adding other boards.

Short answer yes...

Long answer...Search my multi-MK thread or one similar by Zenomorp.

zenomorp (yourmksource) has a bunch of vids on his youtube page and i think there's a thread here by him and many by others about multi switchers.

250 is a decent deal for any MK cab that's in decent to almost perfect condition, make sure it's a dedicated cab tho. if it's a dedicated MK3 250 is a steal and you should snatch it up immediately as they are the rare ones.

only mk1 and 2 have the seperate sound board

mk3 boards alone go for $100-200 alone (food for tought).

ctozzi also has a ton of vids on multi jamma mk cabs ect..

since there's mk3 in the cab already you should be completely set for any of the other mk's (i think the kick harnesses are all the same +/- the run button on 3/4) and would only need a quick switch of the kick and jamma harness to swap games (i could be wrong on this tho as i only have umk3 right now and i'm not 100% positive on the kick harness).

i actually would rather not have the switcher, there's enough room in the cab to have atleast 3 of the MK's, and most of the switchers also have to be modified for a couple of things like kick harnesses, test/service button, and -5 (unless they changed any of these).

figure the cab alone is worth 75-250 depending on condition and which version of MK the cab originally was or wasn't.

I don't think it is a dedicated cab. It does not have the long CP (airplane wing) on the front.
The cab might be a dynamo. It is in nice shape though.
I really don't care about the cab, as the MK cabs are always huge. I need space, so for me this would work.

dont forget mk1 and mk2 boards can be a different kick harness, theres y and t unit boards. mk2 is t unit, 1 can be either..

Has anyone made a Mortal Kombat board with ALL the games on it?? Like a multi pac or something like that??

Also, which is better or more rare? MK 3 or Ultimate MK 3?

there emulated so you could buy a xxxxin1 that has em.. but thats a waste, I would just run the dedicated boards on a switcher. theres no MK multi as of now, except mame lol

Someone better get on that. It would be really cool to have all MKs on 1 board!!

What would you say is the best of the MK series? MK II?

I did this a while ago using Clay's Multi-Jamma. It wasnt an easy project to get all the boards to cooperate with each other using the same CPO. Also, there was still some monitor adjustments after switching from one MK to another. I miss my MK cabinet especially playing MKII.

What would be cool is an Arcadeshop type multi-board Mortal Kombat.

Agreed. A multiboard would really be awesome!

What is everyone's pic of the best MK??

Also, I assume that the controls are the same for each game... ie. punch, high kick, block etc. Correct?

Welcome to KLOV. I've admired your arcade for some time now. I used the plans you linked on your site to build the virtual button for my multi MK.
