Does anyone know the difference between Food Fight machines where the side art has a stopped shirt vs. A solid red shirt?

I can't seem to find any information about the machine's history.

I wondered about this, too. I think someone said the red shirt was an earlier run?

Mine has a red shirt:

No, the striped shirt is an earlier, rarer run. Much, much rarer. So I've been told.

Mine has the striped shirt.

A quick GOOGLE found more striped shirt images than red-shirt images... not sure what that says...

I had no idea there was 2 different versions.

Don't forget about Food Fight's Yellow Vs. Black T-molding mystery..

Ya, I keep reading stuff that says..."mine has the ... shirt." I was like, what the hell? I wonder what the difference is. Wikipedia doesn't have anything about it, neither does the KLOV...so I figured I'd toss it out there just to find out.

Are those graphics on the side painted on? I just got mine and I was shocked to see how tight they are to the actual cabinet. I figured it would be some sort of "decal" for lack of a better term.

I've never really seen anyone who reproduces the side art besides this guy [http://x.co/J3LS]. I used to follow his blog thinking that someday he would release everything and I could just make a fake Food Fight cabinet...but it looks like he gave up on the project.

That is a real shame. Because once that side art goes.. that's it, no going back. :v/

I don't think its a mystery, someone changed it. The only pre 1995 atari games I can think of that had t-molding other than black are toobin(blue) and cyberball(mirror).

I think the control panel shirt should match the side art shirt.

Funny, I think Atari didn't know WTF to do - look at the flyer for the game. The cabinet has the striped shirt, but above the cabinet (extruded characters) Charlie has the red shirt.

Mine has a striped shirt on the side art and bezel. Has a low serial number from what I remember posting a while back. Never new there was two.

I too have seen far more striped-shirt Charlie Chucks than the other way around.

IIRC, I read that the rationale was using less red paint cost less.

My serial number is UR02021 and the model number is 39100. No idea if that's an early or late production.

Shirt is red on the sides and on the CPO.

You know...I'm pretty handy Adobe Illustrator. I could actually recreate the vectors for the artwork, and do some pan-tone matching so that the colors are exact. I just wouldn't have any idea where to have them printed.

If someone knows how to produce the vinyl based on artwork I create...I'd be glad to toss my hat into the ring.

Rotheblog was doing the artwork, he supposedly has the front done (or pretty close). Try contacting him for the files.

Personally I think people should be copying the bezel and the cpo as well. The fact that they are nearly impossible to buy should be a huge green flag for anyone who can make them and needs an extra buck or two.

Really?! :v/

I've never heard of anyone changing a set out though...
Guess it was only really a mystery for me, if that's it. :)

This was discussed several years ago on this site..but I can't remember which version was older...seems the stripe was earlier though since the serial number on my foodfight is 521 and I have the striped shirt...but who knows..other than that there is no difference in the actual game..I just think it was one of those variations in the printing that you see from time to time on games..sometimes there is reason they change and sometimes its just a mistake..maybe forgot to block out for stripes on later sets of the art and thus you have a solid red..not a big deal. I think the Red shirt is rarer though because most ones I've seen have the stripes too..If everyone with a foodfight post what version shirt they have and serial numbers we could get a good idea when in production they shirt changed..

If you guys do a little digging you will find that the side art and front art will be produced sometime in the future.
I'm not sayin' where. It's really not hard to find out where though.

Why would you not say where? Is it illegal or something? If that's so then all these repos that people sell are illegal as well.
