I am wondering what chip or chips on my food fight board hold the memory for caliberating my joystick.
I can get caliberate my joystick in the test mode.. however it only holds for 1 game... and sometimes not even the whole game... sometimes only one life and it is off again.
Just wondering if anyone knows what chips hold this information.
A buddy of mine had a food fight board that would not hold this information as well - but it was a little different... he said everytime he turned the game off he would lose it. Then he would have to re-caliberate it when he turned it on again.
Can anyone help??? This is extremely frustrating!

I have a similar problem with my I, Robot board. It stopped saving high scores, and also won't save the joystick calibration during a power on/off cycle.

It also uses the X2212 chip for high score saves, but I tried replacing it with a new X2212 and it did not correct my problem.

But I then found out it is probably a problem with my switching power supply that messes with the way that the scores and calibration data are written to the X2212.

I've been busy with other stuff lately so I haven't had the time to nail this thing down, but go here for some more information that might help you out (and a far better description of the possible source for your problem than I could ever give :) ):

FYI, the only source I could find for new X2212 chips was arcadechips.com (if you need a new one).

I also had issues with my Food Fight saving to the X2212, which stores all of the "saved" information (stats, joystick calibration, high scores, etc.)

I had replaced the A/R II with a switching power supply. Eventually, I discovered that it wasn't a bad chip, but that when using the switching power supply, it wouldn't write to the X2212.

I now have an A/R II and it works fine. :D
